I am curious to know how the opus holds up on the hardpack/ variable conditions. Once the powder gets chopped up will these guys still be reliable? I need a powder ski but I want one that can serve in all conditions.

I found a deal on craigslist for the 14' opus 185cm at 500$. I offered him 400 and he said he'd take it cuz he needs the money . I know that's the right size for me, but I'm not sure how they will hold up for variable conditions. Should I go for it?

Read the Blister Gear Review write-up on it. I think it was well praised if I remember correctly.

But also take a look at the how to ask for ski advice thread

I would get the Sir Francis Bacons. Decently wide underfoot, pretty much an all mountain ski but from what I hear it handles really well in powder too. I'm probably going to buy a pair once I get some money, they look like a super fun ski.
