Line Mr. Pollards Opus vs Armada JJ

Haven't ridden the JJ yet....but the opus is real good on groomers and hardpack. It's light and playful. Good swing weight and spins easily. Ollies nicely. Real easy to throw around in the trees. You can literally ride it as an "everyday" ski. I haven't had a chance to run it through any deep pow yet but that's what it's made for and I'm sure it'll shine there as well. From what I've been told about the JJ and from what I've read in reviews, it excels in deep pow....even better than the opus. It does everything else the opus can can do as far as groomers, hardpack, etc....just not as well. So IMO and this is semi unfair as I haven't ridden the JJ yet and am basing this off others, if your looking for a pow dedicated ski go JJ. If you want something that does pow but then also rips the groomers back to the lift, get the opus. Hope that helps and honestly I doubt you'll go wrong with either ski. They're both reviewed highly and I for one can tell you that the opus is my new fav ski of all time. Good luck.
 
Actually, to throw another monkey wrench or two into the mix on ya, you should also possibly consider the on3p caylors and the atomic bent chetlers. I skied last years chets and was super impressed. That is a real real fun ski. Very similar to the opus but also different. I hear the chets excel at aerials. The on3ps are top quality. I've heard nothin but good things about that company and those guys are constantly on NS here in the forums shootin the shit with everyone which is pretty damn cool. Don't mean to further confuse ya but maybe just give ya a few more options.
 
Impulse black Friday bought a pair of opus' yesterday...

They were a ton of fun when I demoed them, liked them a lot more than the chetler, but didn't have a chance to get on the jj
 
Yeah dude I have had the chance to put the opus through the paces again and it is phenomenal. Blows me away how well this thing handles groomers, ice, and heavy snow. I threw everything early season has to offer at it and wow. If you didn't look down at how wide it is you would have zero idea that it is a pow ski. I ran it down a bump run on corn snow with icy troughs and they felt like I was on a traditional ski. They also floated the heavy wet snow with ease. I really thought that maybe my experience on them this spring was just my own hype but no. These are legit "everything" skis. There is no way that a pro model freestyle pow ski should handle the groomers this well. Trust me on this. Go buy the opus right now. I know I threw out other suggestions to you before but no. Get the opus. Right now. It's that sick. You will not regret it and I bet after your first time out you may even thank me. Either way, best wishes on a good season homie.
 
i too has an impulse buy yesterday and got a pair of JJ's. (fucking stoked)

i have heard many things that the bents arent as fun as expected.

ill bump this when i get a chance to ski them more, i demoed them once on groomers, (early season), and they did amazingly better then i expected.
