Well it is good for those people that want to get skier's thumb on every fall, instead of just some of them. Some people just like to go all or nothing.

i dont think u understand.....these tabs will prevent your hand from coming off the grip in the event of a fall, thus causing the grip to remain in your plam and if u land on your hand like that it puts intense pressure on your thumb causing you to get skiers thumb, that wouldnt happen if the grip wasnt stuck on your hand due to the grab tabs.

The whole reason that I started using line poles is the thin, simple grips. I don't want another plastic piece on them

if its stiff enough that you can wedge your hand against it to hold up your pole, then its stiff enough to keep your hand on the pole in a crash.

i personally never ski with straps, i think the grabtabs are a great addition, + if they're soft rubber or plastic i don't see how they are gonna harm you...
the guy saying that when the tab is hard enough to retain your pole it's hard enough to inure your thumb is a retard ...

Im not entirely sure I understand skiers thumb but I take the straps off my poles so they'll fall away in a crash. One crash I messed up my thumb without the help of poles.

I never said the tab itself would injure you, I agree that it wouldn't, I said that the tab would help stop your hand from sliding off the grip in a crash, increasing the chance of thumb injuries.
