Line durability

For the last few years when any of my friends buy a pair of lines they end up delammed within the first week. Last year around mid season two of my friends bought chronics and neither pair lasted a whole week. But reading through threads on here some of you claim to be riding the same pair of lines from like 2014. So what’s the deal? Are my local shops getting the defects or are they just not made like they used to be?

I’ve had 2 pairs of line skis. Both pairs were literal shit. First 5 runs I acquired 3 edge cracks on my pair of twalls, then bought some honey badgers (probably a mistake considering they are the cheapest) and they delaminated 3 days of use but they wouldn’t warranty either because “I UsEd tHeM iN tHe paRk” then I switched to armada ARVs and I actually lost about an inch of edge and 4 edge cracks and a compressed edge after 7 days of use.

all in all I’ve had 2 pairs of moment frankenskis that have both lasted a season and a half, and just bought my first pair of on3ps last season and they still feel and look as if they just came out the box.

Bro is skiing in a construction site or something

i have arvs and they’re fantastic, and everyone else says good things ab them

Do you detune your edges? If you hit rails right out the gate, you will have issues. It sounds like you aren’t prepping them. ON3P does a heavy factory detune

I have skied 4 pairs of chronics and now also have blends and sfbs. The chronics have always lasted at least a season with about 40-60 days skied mostly park. Most of them would’ve lasted longer but one pair detuned in the end of the season and the others i rode on rocks. I’ve had 1 pair per year, because I can, not because I have to. Idk what you’re doing to fuck up your skis or you’re just getting unlucky

I'm one of those people who still has some fully functioning 2010 Anthems and 2014 Chronics, other than chipped topsheets I've had no issues at all. The Chronics probably haven't had that hard of a life but the Anthems got abused and have held up amazingly well.

That said I did kill a pair of 2008 Invaders to the point where they now have a rocker profile.

I think it's like anything, some skis will last and others won't. Detune the edges, maintain and store them properly and hopefully you'll get longer out of them.

I’ve always detuned them hella. I’ll admit I didn’t detune my ARV’s as well as I have my other skis but they were still detuned.

ARV 86-96 are the most bland skis you can buy id personally stay away from them, but their durability is pretty good.

Covid is the scapegoat for literally everything now. But I have noticed USA ski inventory overall seems to be a little lower than European lately, aside from the local guys like Moment, ON3P, etc.

I heard line had some factory defects this past year from a source close to them due to COVID stuff, but this year should be fine.

Yeah they’re the most vanilla freestyle skis ever IMO
