Thinking about buying some chronics for next year..if you have skiied these any comments are appreciated..if any skis comparable to these that you have liked please reccomend/comment on those as well...Thanks

i have only heard great things about them. i would relate them to the suspects and ar6's. each amazing skis

Suspects WERE an option until i heard all the negitive things about them..Ar6 seems to be a good alternative too..Does anyone know which ski is lighter and by how much K+

suspects and ar6 heavy, i think the chronics are too. next years suspects will be lighter, and more durable.

Oh really..i spoke with a salomon rep. at my mountain and he said that the suspect is going to be the same exact ski, just newer graphics?.and for the ar6 and chronic, as long as they dont feel like complete dumbells straped to my feet, it wont be too much of an issue

to be honest, after the few runs it takes to et used to new skis, you wont notice the weight at all and it will feel natural pretty much. you should be strait with chronics, like i sai di have only heard good things about them

Yeah, i think im set on CHronics.. now time for bindings..any suggestions? im an advanced skier 60%hardpacked/groomers and 40% park. some that im looking in to are the look px12, salomon sth 12, marker griffons/12.0s, or rossi sas 120..

i just got some 09 chronics and 09 px12s come in today, the bindings look straight, i was looking at the px12 vs sth12 and well someone said they px12s were more durable and just better but havent really tried them out but looks straight and feels better compared to the sth [feels cheap]

I've skied Chronics with STH14s mounted 2 back all season and I couldn't be happier with the setup for mainly park with a bit of all mountain skiing.

Can't comment on the chronic but in terms of bindings I have:

PX12, PX14

Marker Jester, Marker Griffon

Salomon 914

I'd recommend the jester/griffon any day. Nice and light, durable, release when they should, look nice, but they do squeak on occasion.

I can say almost as many good things with the PX but they don't have that nice solid feel that the markers have although they are incredibly durable. Don't squeak either.

Overall i'd say griffon/jester (depending on weight), but the PX won't let you down either.

I am thinking of buying the chronics. I am 5'0 tall and weigh 80lbs and I ski 50%carving and 50%park . I like doing jumps and sometimes rails would they be a good ski for me or would they be too stiff?

colez, as far as bindings go - go for the griffons. i have these bindings on my walls and i love them. ive skied on the sth12/14s px12jibs/rossi scratch series bindings and for some reason the lighter weight on the griffons and sturdiness that they offer is amazing. ive beaten my walls up pretty hard on some jumps/rails and the bindings are wayy durable. they offer 2 DIN less than the jester making them somewhat cheaper but still expensive, if you find a good deal or have the dough get these you will be impressed with the light weight which is really beneficial to me in my hunt for good binders. if no good finds or lacking the cash, go for the px12s

Yes go for the Griffons. I have them, they´re super light. I´ve been doing all kind of jibbing and tweaks with my skis, and the bindings always release only when I really want them to.

It depends on how big the jumps you hit are.. If you're gonna be hitting 70-80 footers then yeah get them. But, if you're hitting 30-50 footers then get anthems. And, you said you'll be carving a lot then I would be leaning more towards the chronics because the Anthems are softer and more buttery.

but i am tiny the anthems would be too wide for me. Also i like to hit 30-50 footers.Would the chronics be too stiff for me?

the 09 chronics are softer than the 08's. i have the 08 in a 181 with sth 12's, best setup possible. i like the sth 12 alot better than the px 12, which i have on my invaders. I woudl not compare the chronics to either the suspect or ar6, the fles is similar to the suspect but the sidecut and everything else about the ski is much different than teh supsect and ar6. the suspect and ar6 have much more sidecut and are wider. They have a more traditional sidecut, vs the chronic which is almost symmetrical. I would compare them to s4/ghetto/scratch fs. they have similar sidecuts and the flex is basically the same.

im gonna get 09 invaders and i was deciding between the px12 jibs or the sth 12s. which one would u reccommend that would be best for the invaders. which one is lighter and more durable.

the sth 12 is definitely lighter. i have had no issues with my sth 12's, i dont have any scratches on them after 40 days of hard riding, no cracks or gouges in them. I would say that the px 12 is more durable because of its weight and it could probably take alot more abuse, mine have gouges out of them and scratchs from bashing them on rocks and frozen ground. I woudl say that the px 12 has a thicker body, but it gouges, if that bothers you. the sth has a light shell, but i havenet had any issues. go for whatever is cheaper

i just demoed a pair of chronics and loved them.

great in the park, very easy to spin even at 171cm

very stiff

not my favorite bump ski, not so great for cruising either (when cruising i like a ski with a very short turn radius)

Yea I just got some 09 invaders off evogear.com for cheap. The bindings I have on are rossi sas 120, which are similar to the px12s.When I lifted the bindings, I felt that they were heavier than my previous bindings. But once I clicked in my skis, I barely felt any difference. They are a very durable bindings from what I've heard, and they feel really solid under my feet...

the chronics are an amazing ski, you will not be disappointed. They are stiff enough for high speed/big jumps with a lot of pop. but they can still butter. have had fun with them on rails, they hold a nice tail/noseslide because they are stiff. mount em at -2cm true center and you are golden
