Line Chronic Cryptonites vs Line Anthems

Im 5 10 or so and 140 pounds on a good day. I am on a tight budget and I need a good all mountain ski that is still wide enough to take through some powder so that is why I chose these two skis. I ski about 50% park, 40% all mountain, and 10% powder. The dilemma though is that the chronics only come in 173 and the anthems in 178. Id rather have the chronic because they are stiffer and can handle bigger jumps better. is 173 too small for me?? I only ask that because I am currently on 169 fugatives but I hear k2s sizing is on the larger side. and as for the anthems I feel like 178 center mounted would be perfect but I hear they arent that stiff which means jumps would seem like a problem for them.

help me out please! also sorry if any of that didnt make sense at all

Since you spend only half your time in the park, I'd suggest getting something with rocker and something that is a little wider. As for sizing, get something that's around the high 170's low 180's.

Center mounted skis with dulled edges is no fun on groomers if you are carving, or in pow. Good mounting point would be like -1.5 or -2 from center.

not sure if it's out of your budget, but the k2 revival sounds great for what you're looking for. they're wide enough to rip the whole mountain, stiff, and have jib rocker. they come in 174, which would be perfect since they actually run a little bigger. you could find a pair online for 350 which is around the same as the anthems and chronics.

You could also take the slightly rockered wider park ski route with the line blend or the salomon 2012. I heard that mark amba actually sometimes uses the 2012 for skiing pow lines. And it's of course a good park ski too ( I think moxam skis 2012s...)

I have anthems. I'm 5-6/5-7 and 135lbs and ride 161 anthem octolands. they suck for anything not park. they suck basically anything that isn't almost flat/smooth, as in they suck in hard patches, they suck on mogully terrain, they suck in pow imo. When i'm in pow i always find myself in the backseat because of the center mount, it's like im using my calfs to turn instead of flexing forward into my boots. I demo-ed some rossi s3's the other day and compared it to the anthems. they really made the anthems suck for anything non park. And you can't/not supposed to mount them other than dead center because thats how the ski was made, to be mounted dead center
now the good part about anthems, I love them on jumps and rails. people say you will wash out and all that BS with the anthems. I've never washed out, just make sure you dont land too much in the back seat. I really like them on rails, the center mount def has its purpose there. Maybe because im light/got a short ski but they aren't as buttery as i thought they would be. They are soft though.
If I could do it all over again, I should have just got 171 anthems and them a more specific pow/all mountain ski, something like the rossi s3 or line blends(i havent tried blends yet). but then again I can't really complain, I got my anthems brand new octoland edition for $300 with bindings brand new lol
