Line afterbangs vs other skis

So I was just about to buy myself some line afterbangs, but then i heard some things about chipping and tearing off. So I'm just wondering are line afterbangs the best way to go. I want to get a lot better in the park but then again I NEED a ski to hold up in powder. My price limit is is probably going to be 300-400. so if you guys can share your thoughts about what skis i should buy that would help a lot.
 
I haven't ridden to many skis, but compared to ar6's, suspects, and on3p blue steeles the afterbangs are practically un-ridable. they're heavy and sloppy and unresponsive and feel exactly like what they are, a solid piece of wood on the bottom of your foot.

That said, I did get about 3 runs through 10+ inches of pow and they outperformed both the ar6's and suspects (had nothing on the blue steeles).

 
maybe i just hit an absurd amount of rails but mine are destroyed after not even a year. so many base scrathes and chips and the entire way up the side of the ski is no longer graphic its just wood
 
how much pow are we talking (inches)? second how often are you gonna see pow? third, if theres no pow then your definitely riding park all the time? if your answer was deep, alot, or no then i would say the arv or kung fujas would be a solid ski for you. theyre not gonna be as nimble in the park but theyre gonna be good and theyre gonna do very well on groomers and will float relatively well in the pow. if were talking mostly park with some pow/allmtn then id say the ar7 or perhaps some rockered park ski (i could not recommend one ive never skied one, but have friends that love em and say they have great float for a park ski)

If you want skis that will work in pow afterbangs are practically the opposite of what you would want
 
Imo the Armada El Rey is the best perforning Pricepoint Park ski out there. It is surprisingly good all mountain $399 so its in ur price range
 
This. I completely forgot price range, so the arv and ar7 are both out but the el rey is unreal for the price, i mean mike hornbeck rides em when he could be riding the ar7 or thall so they must be doing something right with that ski
