Actually it does. White bases don't hold wax as well as black.

Read my post. I said that white doesn't retain wax as well. Olympic skiers have their skis waxed after every run, so having white writing on their bases won't make a difference. Also, black bases generate higher temperatures, which is a distinct advantage in colder weather because it aids in creating the water that you "glide" on. Don't believe me? Your skis should be waxed every day you go skiing if you are looking for speed.

Afterbangs have extruded bases on them, which don't hold wax well.

My afterbangs are really slow. I can never get as much speed as my friends on jumps. It stinks.

When you wax put them in a hot box so the wax is in the core of the ski..therefore staying waxed longer

I haven't had any problems on my A-bangs yet so... i think it's got to do with the snow partally too. that stuff is like sandpaper

i just wax them every 2 weeks
