well hes even worse when he plays music that isnt rap. wasnt there some shitty song pretty recently where he was playing the guitar and singing?
 
WOW, everyone doesn't know what they are talking about, if they actually listened to his music they would have realized that he is doing the rock stuff for him and doesn't care if people like it, he just wants to do it for himself. Plus just wait for tha carter 4, that sh*t is gonna be ill. Plus he has flow, clever lyrics and sick beats and he even said that he knows that most people are gonna hate his rock stuff, so don't go dissing on a rapper you don't know about. Plus he sold 1,000,000 albums in a week it has been years since 50 cent did that.

how can you not enjoy a good lil weezy track? sure they might not be the most intelligent stuff around, but you can't deny that it is good to listen to when skiing and such.

Your putting down one of the most influential and proficient artists of our times. He was nominated for EIGHT grammys.

He puts out 3 songs a day, and does more mixtapes than all other rappers combined. Sure it's not all incredible, but you have to at least respect what he's doing for music. Anyone who can put out that amount of music has to be talented in some way.

Most Rappers put out 3-5ish albums, and are done. I have over 1000 songs by him, no repeats, and its not even close to everything.

saying stuff like, "it astounds me that he's popular" is so fucking ignorant. Really? are you that blind? Rap is SO popular right now.

At least respect him if you don't like his music.
 
I think this is what makes alot of his songs so terrible.
Maybe if he spent time thinking of lyrics instead of making up 6 year old rhymes, they would be somewhat decent.
 
Anyone who agrees with this clearly knows nothing about music.

First, he puts Kanye and T.I. on the same level as Nas. Mistake number one.

Second he talks about how Lil Wayne is the equivalent to DMX. Their careers are not even close and Lil Wayne has put out thousands of verses.

Third he starts on about how Jay-Z was doing big pimpin 10 years ago and Lil Wayne was doing some cheesy verses. 10 years ago Wayne was 17 and Jay was 30. A huge difference in age and maturity and you can't even compare. That like comparing Shane McConkey to Tom Wallisch.

There's no arguing that Lil Wayne has had a huge impact on music. He's put out thousands of verses and continues to shape his music even after being in the industry for almost 15 years. You might not like his music, and that's ok. But to deny what he's done and has the possibility to do makes him at least iconic in the rap industry. There are a lot of artists out there that I don't like but I at least acknowledge what they have done for music.
 
maybe some of his songs arent intelligent but seriously, when your listening to music are you like wow, that guy is the smartest person ever. he must have graduated from stanford. FUCK NO, if it sounds good and flows its way legit.
 
Is it a crime for him to speak what comes to him? He takes a different approach to his music. For most people they sift through all their stuff and pick out the best stuff to put out for the public to hear. Wayne just raps what's on his mind and puts it out there.

Lil Wayne is a business man disguised as a musician. He's like Christian Audigier. He throws his stuff everywhere and people buy it. He knows what hes doing and he does it good.
