right now i got suspects with look px12's on em and they feel super heavy, is that just me or is the ski or binding heavy?
also wat would be a really light weight setup but still stable for hitting like 45 footers not many rails

PX12 is kinda heavy compared to a lot of other 12 din bindings. But generally heavy means strong. The lighter bindings like griffons, sth 12, ect are made from a lot of plastic so break more easily. Stick with the PX12's. You only notice it when your carrying then since the weight is all centered.

There are weights for pretty much all bindings in the binding sticky up top of Gear Talk.

best of my knowledge marker griffon/jester and head JO pros. Lightest setup possible.

PX12s are probably the heaviest 12 DIN binding out there, so that's really what's weighing your ski down. Griffons and STHs will be much lighter in terms of weight. As far as light skis, Invaders, JO Pros and LTEs are all super light.

BUT, and here's the thing everyone forgets, Ski/Binding weight means nothing when skiing, even when jumping and spinning on rails. It's all about SWING weight, which is basically how fast can the ski swing around. There are tons of things that go into making a ski and binding set-up have lower swing weight (the main one being center mounted with an equal weighted binding - so the toe and heel piece weigh about the same, I know griffons claim this, which is why their toe piece looks so weird), other things like core material, shape, and weight displacement are also factors in swing weight. I mounted my AR6s with PX12s a few years back and while carrying them they were extremely heavy, but while skiing them (jumps, rails, whatever) you couldn't notice because of the skis design.

yeah i have noticed that when im carrying them they are extremely heavy, i think ill just stay with em until they are gone. k+ for everyone that replied thanks.

STH 12 has alot of metal in it. The STH series has a metal track on the heel which is much better than the z series. Also, as everyone has said, binding weight doesn't mean shit, its directly underfoot more or less so you will never notice it unless you have extremely weak legs. As far as lightest setup, griffons and jo pros most likely, even though my griffon/ lizzie setup is extremely light.

i believe i had it this year: 09/10 surface nine lifes + salomon z12 bindings
wasnt the most durable tho.
id go with: 10/11 surface no time (more durable with kevlar) + griffons or sth12

I preordered the On3p Blue Steele's which in fact are lighter than the No Times (I have confirmation from both companies) and I have the sth 16 bindings.

The Blue Steele's are bamboo so they are incredibly light and durable.

But if you want the lightest setup, I'd go Blue Steeles or JO Pros

cheers for the encouragement, i was fitter but then i got swine flu and lost all my muscle and six kgs so gotta build that all back up

These are light, just under 6 pounds

Full tilts and snowblades. Definately a light setup.

With bindings though the weight shouldnt effect you very much because its so close to your foot.
