Light, Durable Bindings?

Looking for bindings to put on some 2011 salomon suspects (all durability jokes aside), want something super light and preferably inexpensive, and it would be nice if they could last me a few years. Anyone?

Cheap, light AND durable...sounds like you're looking for perfection...unfortunately, finding all 3 is quite difficult.

FKS bindings are arguably the most durable bindings on the market today...but not the lightest, and certainly not the cheapest.

STH bindings (non-driver toe) are very light, but also not the cheapest, and loose some durability. While the driver toe version increases the durability, it also increases the weight a bit.

PX/Axial/Freeski series...don't get me started...heavy, not super durable (unless you rock the 18 DIN, which you most likely don't need...and even then they're "meh" at best), plus side, they're pretty cheap

Marker Royal Series (Squire, Griffon, Jester) mid-level price, squire has very limited durability, griffon is slightly better, jesters are pretty good, but the price goes up, as does the weight.

...are you seeing the pattern here...high durability=high cost and usually some weight involved.

You're best bet is probably the Tyrolia/Head/4FRNT Peak/Mojo/Deadbolt series, lightweight, not that expensive, and actually pretty durable.

I'd also recommend looking here:

Thanks for the feedback, willing to sacrifice some durability. Know anything about the tyrolia tanner hall model

Same as all the others, just different colors, just make sure you get the right DIN setting for you (not sure if the THall pro is only an 18 DIN binding or if they have 12, 14, and 15 DIN version as well).

Please see my above post...

They're very heavy and have a ton of issues with breaks (80% of the skis I see shooting down the mountain in the park have PX 12 bindings on them), and the track tends to have issues as well, which can end your day quite abruptly.

I absolutely love my tyrolia bindings! I got them on my park skis and have had them going into my 3rd season. I would replace them but I can't see why because I love them so much. There light, there pretty good on durability, not like FKS though, mine are pretty scuffed and stuff. Now the biggest reason why I love these bindings is how the release. I can't think of a time they ejected when I didn't want them too, but have released everytime I wanted them too, its just absolutely amazing to have such confidence in my bindings and feel so safe, knowing that these will eject when needed. The toe pieces really do release also, seeing them release when falling backwards and sideways. I will probally always buy tyrolia now, its the best feeling being so comfortable locked into these. Do get!

Durability is everything when it comes to bindings, trust me the weight makes no difference because it's so close to your feet (unless they;re stupid heavy). The only thing that really matters with weight is swing weight. When you start skiing aggressively you really want to trust your binders to hold up.

I love my looks. Been using them as long as I can remember and no problems. Just got new ones this year and I feel they are a solid binding. I am a huge fan of the pivot to. But that is going to be wayto heavy for you. Definitely try tyrolia
