Lifted Bindings

Well i know this is probably a really stupid question to ask, but i dont know how else to find out. I was checking out the Rossi scratch 120 wide brake binding and the Look PX12 Titanium Wide Binding, and one of the differences between the two was that the look binding was 'lifted' what does this mean?

it means theres a plate to put between the binding and the ski and it lifts it off the ski and it makes turns quicker, its used for racing and u should probly get a binding without lifters so id go with the scratch 120's

^ yea lifters alow you to be higher up so that you can carve at steeper angles and gives you more levrage.

for park skiing, and freeriding, lifters arn't very popular cause there pretty much useless unles you like skiing gates, or carving nutty turns.

It's the same fucking binding. The Look one has a plate underneath that raises you a little higher off the ski. If you like the feeling of being right on the deck, get the rossis. If you like being up a little higher, get the looks. If you don't know, get the rossis. Most skis people on this site ride are wider, so while they'll be slightly slower edge to edge(one thing plates help with), you won't boot out either, making the plates more or less useless.

but them just dont have the lifter mounted with them, you can take them off before the binding is mounted although youll need shorter screws, your shop will take care of it. You tell them what you want not the other way around.
