Lift tickets just for park

Visiting the website of Laax i noticed that they have lift tickets just for park. That should defintily be offfered in more resorts. I mean park skiers are most of the time using one lift and one piste only at the resort, so it would be fair to pay less. At least where im from isnt such an option. Are there more resorts doing that?

Yeah I think it’s pretty common in Europe, when I was in Italy the resort I was at had a park pass that was just the gondola to get to the park and the park lift

this should definitely be more common. my local (afton alps) is a vail resort so day tickets are super expensive. when we build a cool park no one comes to ride it cuz they don’t want to pay full price. all we would need is like a $20 rope tow only physical ticket on a wicket and it be perfect

^ yup definitely check your resorts website, the Bush one originated as a beginner lift ticket. I just realized our resort also does a beginner lift ticket that gets you to half our parks for $70. There may be one for your mountain already but nobody in marketing realizes it

In America, this would cause the parks to be even more flooded with non park skiers just trying to save a few bucks.. They'd end up getting in the way of park skiers and then proceed to blame them. So honestly i dont wish to see the Park only ticket lol

we dont let rentals into the park so that helps keep out some of them but could see this happening to some degree

The renters are pretty good about staying on main tbh. It’s the hardo Nordica Enforcer dickheads that want short lift lines so they can “farm vert” … if I ever refer to skiing as “vert farming” just take me out back n put me down like lassie bro Jesus Christ ??

Yea no I’m not talking about Inferno. That’s valid. A waste of space! But valid

i think it was prior to vail acquisition but park city used to have a ticket for just the 3 kings lift and maybe whatever is next to it but it was to ride the park only.

Mt hood skibowl offers tickets for their rope tow park! Too bad yall are sleepin and only come out for tline spring pass. Skibowl is the shit

I haven't payed attention as of the last couple years, but Arapahoe Basin used to have a Molly Hogan Lift ticket for beginners. Was like half price (or less) for the lift out of the parking lot. Probably 20 vertical feet. I always thought this was great to way to make skiing more accessible and less intimidating for first timer...

Thinking about reaching out to some of the resorts around Zurich and ask them to do this because I’m broke as fuck lmao

this could be a great idea but how would you enforce it? I know some mountains have scanners for every lift but my hill doesn't, so it wouldn't really be possible to give out tickets for park only

yeah it’s really gotta be set up for it in an isolated area where you couldn’t ski to a mid mountain lift.

There's no profit incentive for this, NA resorts would never

for a midwest resort with a rope tow it actually work pretty smooth. We are all RFID so for the park ticket just do a physical ticket you have to wear that is easy to see. Then just need a worker in the park watching the bottom of the rope to see if people are wearing them

in the long run they could make more money because more people would get into skiing. The people who got into skiing in the park would probably still buy the ticket for the whole resort on a pow day.

I feel like there us though. If a resort can get most of the park rats with no cash in the area to ski to ski their park then they should still be rakin in a little no?
