Googled and nothing came up on here.

Life of Pi trailer was released today and I have to say I'm super excited to see the movie. It looks like Ang Lee has done an incredible job, but I hope the movie does the story justice. The book is one of my favourites of all time, so I can't wait.

Anyone else stoked for this movie?

I've been looking forward to this trailer for so long, Life of Pi is hands down my favorite book.

Looks pretty sick, I can't wait for the meerkat island part.

A boy is traveling the ocean with his family on a boat full of animals and when the boat sinks he gets stuck in the middle of the ocean on a lifeboat with a tiger, and the story goes from there. Definitely worth checking out

Phenomenal book, hope the film does it justice. Yann Martel, has lived quite a life and his style is really interesting, Self is a good read too.

This looks like its gonna be an amazing film. I remember reading this back in 7th grade and just being so horrified/amazed with everything that went on in the book.

Looks decent, but with that painful amount of CGI, its novelty will probably "expire" in two years.

I mean the book was alright, it was pretty good. But it falls under the same category as enders game.. too many 1st person thoughts to be done any justice

in writing it is very easy to say something like "he thought about how much fun he had skiing last year," however if you film someone thinking, it doesnt get the message across. in enders game so much of the book takes place in the minds of the kids that it cant be translated to a movie script without losing half of the plot.

This is actually a pretty good point.

I'll still watch it when it comes out though, I really liked the book and the trailer looks cool.

but half a movie of narration doesnt make a very good movie, it makes an illustrated audio book.

my first time reading that was miserable as it was required reading, reading it later was most enjoyable. i'm interested to the the movie for sure

I kinda feel like half of what was good about the book was the internal dialogue, not sure that could be captured in a movie.
