Lid on or Lid off?

Me and some of my buddies got in an argument about throwing some milkshakes at stuff and whether to keep the lid on a milkshake to throw it or take it off to produce the most damage. I said that the cap should be off they think it should be on. Many factors are at work here (ie. viscosity, centripetal force, accuracy, distance)

What do you think NS?
 
well, if you are throwing it at low speed leave the lid off, there wont be enough forces acting on the cup to force the contents out in most cases.

in a high speed attack the lid should be left on. unless the cup will be kept steady by a spiraling motion, the air resistance the cup encounters during its flight could cause it to tumble through the air, forcing the contents free of the container. a lid will ensure that in this sort of event the container retains as much liquid as possible until it has struck the target. with a high enough velocity this impact should provide enough force to break the top free and release the contents across the intended target.
 
I can think of several objects that would serve as much better projectiles, not to mention you would be saving a delicious snack.
 
dont do it at all, we done it in a car to a boy on a bike at coke went all over him and he went mad, the police found out where we all lived and contacted us, but from personal experience, close range you take the lid off, medium-long range keep the lid on
 
lid on obviously. the contents will remain in the container until impact before spreading, where as the open container will begin to lose milkshake after the initial force (the throw)

drink the fucking milkshake or dont buy it. you really don't have anything better to do than throw milkshakes at shit? get a fucking hobby or some friends who aren't retarded
 
clearly these people hating on throwing milkshakes have never thrown a milkshake. that shit is fucking exhilerating.
 
imagine nailing someone with a fucking milkshake. they would be so confused. we can get a good sized milkshake for like a dollar and it is fucking worth it.
 
im not advocating the throwing of milkshakes. i totally agree that its stupid, but if this idiot is going to be out there tossing milkshakes around like its cool i would at least like him to be doing it right.
 
depends what kind of lids, cups, distance, what your hitting. there are millions of factors that come into play here
 
whyyyyyy??????? fuck you! throw eggs if anthing! but i wouldnt recommend that because some kids at my school egged the school and got fined 750 each and suspended for a week
 
Andy Brinker kept his lid on when he threw a milkshake in Val's face so I suggest you do the same.
 
I thought he just dumped it on him. Are you sure?

I could definitely be wrong, but for some reason I just think it went down that way.
