LIBERTY VS LINE, COMPARED FAIRLY.

There was another thread i posted this in, but i figure it might help anyone else out that has a question between line and liberty... Ive supported both companies, and i dont have a bias, its just straight fact.

Lets give some quantitative reasons now.

Lets start with the biggest selling point.

Warranty: LINE, one year, and youll definitely need it.

Liberty, 3 years, yes three years. If anyone is offering 3 year warranty on ANYTHING, you know itll hold up.

Edges, LINE, skinny ass pieces of metal, less thick than floss.

Liberty, Rockwell edges, very burly and anchored deep into the ski.

Core, LINE, 'Aspen Macroblock Core - Super Lightweight' Note it says NOTHING to even encourage durablitly.

Liberty, 'Liberty Core - Aspen/Birch laminate core with Carbon fiber stringers to provide snap and flex while maintaining torsional rigidity necessary for edge grip. Carbon fiber also keeps the core light and strong while the wood gives it responsiveness and a solid feel.

Liberty Air Core - Liberty Core with the addition of a triaxial fiber wrap to provide impact resistance and durability in park skis. Creates a very light and durable core.'

(all the pro models including the chopper, stealth and reaper have the air core)

Ok, so base materials are generally the same, however LINE doesnt even mention their base material, so Liberty wins again with a Ptex 3000.

Hope this comparison will help anyone trying to make a purchase...

Liberty's are being re-called and LINE is moving to China.

Buy snowlerblades, they're the only true core companies left!

liberty WAS being re-called.. now they got all there stuff done and are stoked on having a 100% ski fo this year. They are a solid ski.. the edge is AMAZING.. they are durable.. they are just a great ski. I dont know much about line, but they also have a good product. i just say buy the ski that best suits your style or what company u feel like supporting...

i dont like line, the damn edge cut me and the other pair my frined had were too skinny and they had the bindings mounted too far forward

Wait, you don't like them because of where the binding was mounted? What the hell does that have to do with the ski? Re-mount it. And the edge cut you? You are a moron.

why can liberty offer a 3 year warrenty and line can only offer a 1 year warrenty. this tells me liberty has more faith in their skis, or its a marketing tool

and not ALL of it was recalled. Anyway, they were sick about it. They are really nice and a buncha sick dudes.

But anyways..I actually have a pair of Chronics and a pair of Reapers. They are both sick skis, both ski really well. But Reapers a longer, so they do get some more use in powder, than the chrons. But the Chronics have the biggest piece of metal for edges that is possible. Edges can only be so big, and they have the max thickness on it..known as 'fatty edges' in their design attributes.

You mensioned carbon stringers for Liberty. Line also has the carbon ollie band. Not to mention maple wood is some of the strongest fucking wood out there. Being strong, it has torsional rigidy, and in fact, more than the Reapers I believe. (The Reapers are actually softer than my Chronics from what I can tell).

Furthermore, bases are 90% of them sintered at around 3000.. Its the happy medium for bases

So before you post, dont be a comlete shithead, and do some research.

i think the way liberty sees it is what newschooler is gonna keep their skis for 3 years anyways. just about everyone on this site needs the hottest new product....... so people will buy the libertys now and maybe break them, maybe not and just get a new pair of skis next year anyways. and freeskier basically proved that liberty has copied every single one of lines ideas. but in a cheaper fasion. congradulations liberty.

jesus christ. this is so wrong. i support liberty, but if liberity is all about bashing other companies to make themselves seem better then they should go fucking make snowboards.

I think the world would be a much better place if everyone who spells 'retarded' as 'retarted' were to be shot dead immediately. Just something that occurred to me.

The 04/05 Pollards are the best skis I have ever had. I have skied with them for 15 days, all park with big jumps, rails etc. I have probably slid rails at least 100-150 times with them, but the edges hold up really great, no cracks, etc.

Hey, I ran into one of the owners of Liberty over the weekend in Colorado, and he told me, in no uncertain terms, that anyone bashing another company is not part of Liberty. He says that they have a non-negative philosophy, and that they respect all other small companies. So whoever says that they are with Liberty, but bash other companies, well he says that they are not with Liberty (and if they are, they won't be).

I'm just reporting what the man said. I guess I agree; bashing is stupid and makes you look weak as well.

I have Lines and Libertys and you know what? I ski them both.

line for sure. they will take care of you

binding destruction count: 3 so far this season, one pair of lines and two pairs of rossis: what will be next?

Hey trollerboy: If you really believe the shit that the owners of liberty were spewing when you supposedly met them in Colorado, you're the dumbest person in the collection of idiots known as newschoolers.com.

Bahahaha... or, you could call it the 'elitist snob' cult. Anyways, my family already owns a country club, so no thanks.

if your refuring to me about 'not respecting'(spelling?) other companys your wrong. i respect Line a whole lot. I opinion is that with out line, freeskiing wouldnt be where it is today. i just dont like it when people listen to rumors and then repeat them thinking they know there ish. so if i sounded like i 'wasnt respecting' line, i do they are a sick company.

We're all chasing the dream

^ see there you go ' line takes the win' this isnt a competition. The skis are just different and you cant say one is better than the other, its all personal preference. Line is sick, liberty is sick. As for the Liberty re-call, that was about 10 pairs of skis that got messed up, and the whole issue has been taken care of and is in the past. So nobody wins cause there is no competition. Ski whichever skis you like, and share respect for both companies.,

im gonna go with ninthward lil butters and line mo ships cause ninthward has an ABS Sidewall which i love way more than Liberty's cap and ninthwards are cheaper.. and im getting moships just cause j-squared disowned liberty

Try them all. Buy what you like. It's really that simple. 4 (or more) pages of this garbage really does nothing to advance any agenda of merit.

We've really seen it all. Line guys that respect Liberty. Line guys that dis Liberty. Liberty guys that are stoked about what Line has done for the sport. Liberty guys that are jealous of Line. Like I say, we've seen it all in this post.

Now let's move on to something more interesting.
