Liberty Skis

I've never rode Liberty Skis and I would like to hear what people think about them. Things like any problems you've had, what you like or dislike most, and how they are in park and such.

thanks! :)

i know a guy who had them 2 or 3 years ago? he said they were really heavy, but he was pretty bad at skiing, and i think they solved that problem with the bamboo core

i love liberty's skis, the bamboo/poplar core provides a lively flex, and insane amounts of pop(even though you use your legs for that), they just add great flex, super fun and playful yet stable, they have heat treated edges on their park skis (lte and morphic) which help prevent edge damage. the bamboo makes the skis so light and swing weight is lowered which is super awesome. the one thing is that in their lte they dont make a longer size, like me i have 178 laroses, and im 6'4" 156 and the extra length would just be awesome, something i hope liberty will address in the future but overall they make great products

My friends production company, Stalker Image Productions, is sponsored by them, and the guys that ski for them seem pretty happy with Liberty. If your a big guy, unfortuanltey, these skis are not for you as they feature a bamboo core which is light and buttery, but will break easily if you got alot of weight to throwdown....What model you thinking?

um this is not true the bamboo is much stronger and has more rebound than any other natural material used for skis, when i was a fat kid 6'3" 210 i rode hazmats (this years morphic) and they held up super well, the bamboo is more of the opposite it is on the stiffer side. And i beat the shit out of the hazmats and they remained stiff and very playful. but now since im lighter and gettin in to park im gettin the 0809 laroses and they are super fun and stable

no they are actually cause since bamboo is related to grass than trees there are more fibers and having a better rebound

I wouldn't be surprised if we started to see more bamboo skis. light, snappy, super durable.

I just started riding for liberty last year and I can tell you the skis are AMAZING. this quote is spot on. What i like about the LTE which i ride, is that they have crazy amounts of pop and are VERY light. They are a little soft around the tips but due to the core they become super stiff farther in which provides very nice support for landing on jumps. also, They have special edges that are heat treated and different hardness levels which are very nice on rails. When I got my first pair of LTEs I thought i would need to get them detuned like all new pairs of skis, but when i went and hit rails, the soft edges even though they were sharp, didnt catch. They kill it on the groomers also. Finally, the durableness of the skis are awesome. I rode one pair of LTEs all season long last year (over 100 days) and out at hood AND on my summer setup and there are only 2 edge cracks and everything else is still perfect. Not only are these skis amazing right now but Liberty is constantly trying to make them even better. There a sick company and make sick skis i would definitely recommend buying a pair.

Sorry for a double post but it is not true that the bamboo core is weak and flexy. I am 180 pounds and rode on 178s and 171s and they are AMAZING, hold up great and very solid on landings.

Im debating between getting a pro form for the LTE or Morphic, my only issue with the LTE is how skinny it is underfoot. Have you ridden the Morphic?

the lte is 87 underfoot and has a wide shovel in the tip and tail to do allmountain, i have laroses that are the same dimensions just slightly softer than the lte (since it is a newer model). The morphic is the same as last years hazmat (changed name and topsheet), the hazmats were great with transitions form the park to the rest of the mountain and 94 underfoot the ski handles great in the pow, the hazmats were pretty stiff sort of like OG volkl walls but they were still playful. And they have the same soft edges that are found on the lte so they can take the rail abuse. Again the bamboo poplar core makes everyone of their skis very responsive, lively, snappy, poppy (i dont know any other words) they are seriously the lightest skis in every category. the one thing is wish liberty would change about their lte is the ski length, i wish they came in a 181+ since im 6'4" 156 i would like some more length in a narrower platform, but can complain from liberty's performance, liberty is definitely my favorite ski company out there

i got the liberty lte's last year and i LOVE them! they're super fun in the park and i haven't gotten much all mountain riding with them besides my home mountain which isnt saying much but when i went to killington I had an awesome time with them there too.

All around awesome ski, even better park ski.

Anybody know if the measure true to size, or better still can actually measure some 178s for me.

178 is about as short as I can go, really wish they made a 184 though :(

me too bro especially me being 6'4" you can always go with the morphics they are a little bit more chunky (in terms of width), with 94 underfoot, they are great everywhere liberty pro rider dave lesh is about 6'1" and he rides the morphics cause of the 181 and 186 lengths, if you are 6'1" or 6'2" thats like the cut off for 178s, i mean i ride 178 laroses but of course im just startin to get into park

How tall are you? The LTE's run pretty true to size, im 5'8 and my pair of 181 LTEs go about an inch over my head.
