Level 1's fall 07 release- "Realtime"

yes. i am retarded for having a different opinion than you.

i havent seen balance or second generation. so we'll leave those out. but strike 3, forward, and to a lesser extent high5, have a much different feel than lss and shanghai6. i dont like the new feel...okay?

too many graituitous "goofing off" shots, cheesy songs, and lack of excitement for my taste. plus lss and shanghai 6 looked exactly the same, which bothered me. i liked l1p before they started trying to be a different company

Wow, it was one line. At the end of an article that even had a theme of "this place is busy." How do you make the leap from that to thinking that he goes around spouting bullshit Level 1 propaganda all day? And it wasn't even "they filmed in a place we have in the past." It was "they filmed on a jump we made the day before." Get off his nuts, his movies are amazing.

See that's funny, but whatever. I don't go out and spread the word of my new lord and savior, Berman/L1P, but I'm here on an internet forum (just like you), might as well defend something I think is wrongly attacked.

he isnt being attacked. he had about 4 articles with comments like that on his site last year. the only thing i'm saying is it seems like level 1 has an ego. I'm just not praticularily fond of comments like that. You never here PBP or MSP say "oh word is level 1 hit our rail, 3 years after we did it" But level 1 still copies it anyways, and nobody cares. I just dont think he has a right to say it. And this being a thread, i feel i have the right to call someone out on something i disagree with.

I think L1p is pretty down to earth. At their premiers will be a bunch of athletes, Freedle, and Berman there to kick it. Shit, Berman listened to my drunk ass last time I talked to him about God knows what.

Just calling out a few of my friends for picking up sloppy seconds, nothing more and nothing less... I hope most of you would do the same!

Everyone hits everyone else's jump spots, rails, etc. While there are tens of thousands of rails and even more spots that have never had jumps built on them, there are certain places that are more easily accessible, get more/better snow, are more scenic, and are just more conducive to shooting then others. Who's to say who was the first to do them, or who should be the last, but year after year, a lot of the same spots get hit, and that will never change.

I'd make no secret of it that I look at a lot of the other movies out there (honestly, mostly snowboard) to check out their locations, how, and where they build jumps, etc. Any opportunity I get to learn more, I'm all over it. Its called inspiration. Of course, the best spots are the ones that you discover on your own, but it can't always go down that way, and there will be jump spots that get built up and hit, year in and year out by a dozen different crews and appear in a dozen different movies. Level 1 has shot spots that other crews have been on for years, and I'm sure that spots our films first popularized have been hit and will be hit by others- thats just how it works.

As for hitting a jump immediately after another crew builds and shoots it... I would at least wait for the landing to fill in- then its fair game!

Think snow.

part of what sucks with their newer movies is that they went to using HD camera's, its good for shit like basketball games and stuff, but it sucks if you want any cool/creative shots, and thats kinda what sucked about sh6 and lss, the only thing they could do was cool angles.

they definatly should use 16mm, their movies would get soooooo much better just from that, even high end 3ccd cameras would make a difference.

its going to be just as good as sh7 high5 and lss. and i love the "moods" of these movies. they are orginal in their editing, mayby not so orginal in their rails/jumps. but why do i care if pbp has allready hit that rail/jump. L1P always have an orginal edit, thats why i buy it. i dont want to see a remake of last years pbp movie with a couple better tricks.

haha i wouldnt care, because i dont feel pwned or w/e. I simply shared my thoughts on something Berman said, and he cleared it up and made more sense of it.

Rumor also has it that the landing had filled in thanks to a windy nght and the sun was shining too, just a rumor though...

think about chad's gap last season and the year before, then move on to the history of this jump.

the history of this infamous jump:

absinthe: futureproof

rage: corduroy

07:mack dawg, Level 1, PBP, RAGE.

the landing filled in, we looked up and saw the sun, so we hit the freaking thing. then we went and continued with our original plan and built another jump farther down. sounds like a dope day to me and it was.

i'd do it all over again without regrets.
