Anybody going to this? I saw on their insta that some pretty sick athletes are gonna be there. Any alternative to spending $190 on a day ticket?

well the elevation is 4,083 ft, and it's advertised at 40.83 thursdays. don't know if they can advertise it as that and then add tax on top of that.

You don’t need a ticket to watch the rail jam. Jam is 12-4. Also there isn’t a big park set up yet so you don’t need a ticket to have a good time. There are like 4 or 5 features set up half way up the hill on Which Way. But I’d say come to bush Saturday to watch the jam. Come to bush another time to ski when the real park is built.

Yeah unfortunately I cant justify the gas cost of driving 3 hours just to watch something and not also ski. Though on a side note thanks for hosting hike and hang that shit was super fun

For sure. Makes sense. There are some other events at bush later this season you should keep an eye out for. Will have same vibes as hike and hang. ?

Level 1 owes the industry and the kiddos, FREE EVENTS.

He sold the entire ski world a lie, and profited from kids risking their lives for his ski films.

He should be paying for every competitor to have a day pass.... to start.

Josh Berman = Brain Cancer

Think they sell sunny Q tickets to access the park lift only normally mid season. Maybe they’re not doing that yet or anymore but worth looking into?

My plan precisely

Ikon passholders get some 25% discount codes-- still don't think it's worth the price to ski with the conditions how they are. If anyone want a discount, I think I can share a friend code.

Don’t know how everyone else was throwing down kinda wish an underdog made podium..I get it, it’s probably the most cash seen for a rail jam so “pros” are going to be hungry too but kinda felt like same outcome as steel city

That’s fair. I think in this case it’s okay, especially given Harald traveled to the U.S. for it and did some fucked up crazy skiing. Also it was only one winner takes all, but they were handing out cash for cool tricks in the beginning of the jam so I think that makes up for it. Hella homies walked away with over a hundred dollars.

Harald got a flight here to film for a project we are finishing up. Even this morning he was saying he wasn’t gonna ski. Then he went Viking mode and high nugged all the rails lmao. Most tricks I’ve ever seen that guy do.

Winner take all is tough for when people travel near and far and walk away with nothing or not enough to cover flights or gas. I don’t think this should be different tho. 4k is dope for winner. I just wish everyone could have a buncha money

how does a media company host a rail jam, and not post any media from the event?

I assume they’re going to use some of it for b roll but yeah, Line and Sugarbush Parks IG had more coverage than their own page which was strange.

Pros don’t make shit so ofcourse they’re gonna ball out and win the rail jam, especially Street athletes

off topic but there was a kid today throwing 7s, fronts and backs off this small jump the coaches made at mad river and it was super dope. also had a big disaster onto flat on a sketchy rail lol. cool to watch.

This is why Level 1 is/was Unsustainable.

maybe giving the riders risking their lives a paycheck instead of buying RED cameras for your ski porns...

prolly could use gopro/iphone and your audience of kiddos would never know the difference.

Glad i never filmed with you WASHED UP - SELLOUTS.

cheers

i have to think you're being purposely ironic here. level 1 was notorious for using shitty cheap cameras, IIRC they were literally using GL2s and shit around the same time other companies were shooting 16mm film lmao

Level 1 sniffed their farts until they shot themselves in the foot by wasting money on media production instead of paying the athletes. berman craigslisted the RED cameras instead of giving them to wallisch for him to start "good compnay"...

every rider in the rail jam has the right to be pissed off. they paid to risk their lives in a competition, only to have their shots put into an edit for other companies exposure... I personally remember signing the photo release that landed me a full page shot in FREESKIER. I GOT FUCKING ROBBED. THE INDUSTRY IS SOCIOPATHIC.
