All the skiiers that love their sport should send this letter to comments@expn.go.com

If enough are sent we can make a difference.

Dear EXPN:

Over the past few years you have been changing your events that you show in the Winter X games. Many people are upset with this and would like to find out some answers or reasons behind your decisions. A couple of years ago you added Skiboarding to your list of events and had a time slot set up for it. After two years you had stopped airing Skiboarding on the x games, you also show few skiing events with very little airtime. This recent year you added moto X to your roster of events and showed all off the riders and all of their jumps. With snowboarding, you have more events and more airtime. We can understand that snowboarding is a very large and popular sport and it needs more coverage, but you have spread the time slots out unequally between the different events. Such events like snowboarding big air, snowboarding slope-style, snowboarding half pipe, moto X, and moto big air get much more air time compared to the 5 minutes that you gave Skiboarding each year. The 2 hours you gave skiing this year was an attempt, however there were still to many advertisements within the time slot and showed more of the events we are less interested in. I thought the X game was about extreme sports and athletes showing what they do best. Skiing and Skiboarding has come a long way over the past few years and it keeps getting more technical and advanced. This year alone there was a large increase of twin tip riders on the slopes and at the summer camps. Please note that in the beginning snowboarding was a very small sport, but with the right coverage it has grown and grown into an enormous sport worldwide. Both skiing and Skiboarding have the potential to be a big success with the right coverage. We, the riders, feel that our sports have been portrayed wrongly. All we ask is that you take into consideration that there are many riders, like us, wishing to see more coverage of our sports progressing, and being represented the way they should be represented. We would like to see more twin tip competitions like halfpipe, slopestyle, big mountain, and big air and fewer competitions like skier cross. Riders should have the choice to choose the equipment they like to compete with. They should have the choice to ride on short twin tips or long twin tips, and they should be able to choose to compete with poles or no poles.

I have spoken to many other skiers across the country via the Internet, and we would all like to thank you for the opportunity to voice our opinion. We hope that this will help make the decisions easier when it comes to setting up your time slots for the twin tip aspect of your competition

Sincerely,

Riders dedicated to making a difference.

Whats wrong with posting that letter...the guy might actually be making an effort to get our sport some more recognition.

uhh actually skier2134 is right, he was just trying to get the sport a little more respect and recognition. however, i'd say it's not a real successful way, if we all send the same letter. so i say we spare him of the sporking . .for now.

i dont want overexosure... if espn doesnt want us good... then we can do our own thing and not have a million little posers out there...

You said it bro, don't tell anyone how sweet skiing is then we get the hills to ourselves and all those little dicks who would copy us can stick to their skateboards and playstations

- My Mom Says I'm Cool

WJBSKI is completely right. I like where skiing is right now. It isn't 'cool' in the eyes of the public, which is damn fine by me. I don't care if people say 'why do you ski man? It sucks'. I know that skiing is the greatest and funnest thing to to on the mountain and that is all that matters. Being one of the few young people on the mountain that skis kind of makes you feel special, you know what I mean? Kind of like you know what everyone else is missing out on. I sure don't want skiing to ever get like snowboarding. I want people to ski because they are true to there sport. Not because they think it is cool.

Peace.

yah man, last year I saw this little fat kid with 1080's, he crawled up the jump...

watch out for people with twintips, there will be a lot more posers than last year

Keep it at it is right now. I don't want new school to go commercial.

Just enough exposure is fine. Too much spotlight will bring too many posers with the highest end equipment by their side.

I don't want to get into a fight with the posers for having the best twins and just grooming on the slopes.

Period.

i hate how people bitch about the x games...they are just trying to make money. thats how the x games started. they arent going to air somehting thats not going to have many viewers tuning in. that doesnt do them any good. so why would they have it on?
