Let's talk about the women's ski knuckle huck...

A switch zero spin is a straight air, you dumb fuck. Thanks for the laughs though.

"the judges don't want to see this turn into a big air contest"

And yet, that's exactly what happened. Apparently Lisa's nollie misty 5 was less impressive than pencil 7s and Rell's nose bud 7 couldn't beat out a missed grab rodeo 5.

What the fuck happened?

yeah the whole x-games presentation is pretty cringe, but it’s meant for a main stream audience and not your “core newschooler” forum poster. The point is to use athletes to sell pizza pockets and mt dew. I thought some of the hand drags and big butters were impressive but ironically, even though the judges specifically said it was not supposed to be a big air contest, the girls who basically used the knuckle like a jump did the best. go figure… So yeah definitely some room for improvement, but a good start imao, and I really hope they sell a lot of Thayers facial toner this year ( fingers crossed)

lol

It was basically an exhibition, which is fine. All of the athletes were already there and it's not like they had to create the feature so I'm sure it was relatively low cost to host it, so I'm glad they did at all. Men's also turned into a big air on small jump contest. They will take what they learned here and iterate and hopefully improved for next year.

Sick to see the judges pushing to emphasize style though, 10/10 on the intent.

its awesome the sport is still developing, we all hate rules, so lets call it guidance... maybe there should be a butter zone to knuckle huck...

as far as the style hit in the big air, maybe limit it to a single axis spin... and more than one try!

Do you really babysit jade? that's a stolen child you know. does she ski or snowboard?

Is it really for mainstream audiences? Because my friends and family couldn't even get into it. It feels geared towards pre-teens and little kids. Every time they did an interview or brought up the thayers hype meter the room was filled with laughter. At one point someone said "Turn this off before I die of embarrassment".

Hubby and I were wondering the same thing. Normy people probably ate it up.

Still don't understand the stoke meter lotion bottle though.

more like stroke meter lol

Wally is fire you guys are dumb. Xgames is somewhat heavy corporate cringe but then look how many riders are wearing their own gear. It's sick. Look how many riders have shitty ass sponsorships for goggles and out wear. It's pretty sick. But also pretty fucked and not good that the ski company's don't want to sponsor our biggest events anymore or some of the very best riders on earth. Means less money in events going forward. I don't understand why you had all these talented womans there for pipe and slope and big air and then but these girls in knuckle huck. That was awful and the right person didn't even win. I'm not sure how people can like left and right side cork 9 and dubble and hit those giant ass fuckin rails and not tail budder in the slightest!?

so i know that women in terms of strength are weaker but you cant tell me that theyre still stuck at 360s of knuckles like i know girls at my local that can do better.

Mens has evolved or whatever too but even the first knuckle huck people had knuckle tricks. It wasn't created out of thin air. People have been chucking knuckle tricks forever. Markus Klevaland did a 1080 off a mogul on the way to the slope course at the 2014 US open. Went viral and he started posting more stuff. Other people started filming cool knuckle tricks and xgames threw it in a few years later.

Just saying it's not like this should have been their first time trying a trick on a knuckle, at least if it's going to be an xgames contest.

It all originated just fucking around. Shouldn't have to learn knuckle tricks just to do better at the 2025 winter X. Knuckle huck as a contest is kind of dumb imo anyway, but that's really pointless.

"I haven't even trained in knuckle huck" was an excuse I just heard. Like you can only do tricks on a knuckle of you train for the xgames event? Idk

I thought Olivia and Rell were really good and there were some dope tricks from the other girls but it wasn’t a surprise when the announcers said that Sarah didn’t practice for this event. It kinda felt like some of the athletes have never tried a butter trick while others were boosting nosebutter cork 7s. I think the event could be really cool but this year was a bit questionable.

Wow dude extremely misogynistic.

Watched women's ski knuckle huck right after women's snowboard, and I had no problems with the ski event after watching the snowboard one where multiple people did straight airs and people didn't even start trying to go past 3 until like the last drop. I thought snowboarding would be better for knuckle huck but the mens snowboarding was lamer than the mens skiing, too

watching XGames on mute is the move

I wish I could watch old sit coms without a laugh track the same way I wish I could turn off commentators. I care more about what the athletes are saying than some guy explaining what a nosebutter is.

How about a laugh track over the xgames?
