Let me know what you think of my online shop

I've seen other people make threads on here about their clothing businesses in the past and I know that clothing is always a hard sell. This is why I'm trying to do something a little different by donating 10% of my product's cost to a non-profit organization called Rainforest Trust. They basically buy tropical rainforest regions that house endangered species to keep them protected from being logged and preserve the ecosystems in them.

Link to my shop: https://himygameis.com

Link to my supported cause page: https://himygameis.com/pages/supported-cause

Rainforest Trust: https://www.rainforesttrust.org/

I've had it up for about a month and a bit or so and so far I have had one sale within the first couple days when I was running ads but ran out of the ad money I had set and have been trying the instagram free rout. Keep getting a bunch of likes but no sales so I figured why not turn to NS to see a non-bias outlook on my stuff. Let me know what you guys think.

Regardless if no one likes my website or products I'd still recommend checking out Rainforest Trust to see what they do. I've always done what I can, when I can,and where I can to help save endangered animals. This organization really caught my eye because 95.73% of donations go to conservation action.

inb4 the bitching about the $50+ tee

Yah it's understandable why you think that's a high priced tee, but honestly I make little off those because they just cost more to make. It's meant for more of a high donation yielding tee.

Nice easy site to use. Couldn't pass up the green wicking shirt. Was 42 us and free shipping so not too bad.

I like the simplicity of the website but I really feel like you could find a more contemporary layout for the site. Get rid of the text at front and center or just shrink it and have that main logo front and center. Brighten up that background, go plain white so your product stands out more. Marketing your product is massive and if you’re a new site just floating through the interwebz you need to generate some sort of traffic for the website.

Have you considered having actual people model your stuff? Even if it’s a small detail it can help people picture themselves in the gear if they see other real people wearing it. Helps people judge the size and fit better as well.

Take all of this with a grain of salt. I’m no expert. I do spend way too much time browsing websites that sell all types of items though.

Thank you for this! I think you are right about putting logo center I could always just throw the menu into a hamburger menu like on mobile. I just need to figure out how to do it shouldn't be that hard.

I did have my website with a white background before but I did find that with a dark background it made more stuff stand out on my darker products. That and I'm just a big fan of dark mode on my phone so I thought that it would be easier on the eyes for people to browse. What I really need to figure out is how to add a light and dark mode.

With regards to getting models I have thought of it. I am going to eventually start doing this, but it may take some time.

Thank you! I hope you like it!

When you get it, if you have an instagram and want to would you be able to share a pic on Instagram and tag the shops page? It would be greatly appreciated. You don't have to, it would just help out a lot ?

The boreal design can definitely sell but you gotta find your target market to work on advertising for and also that design is horrendous.

I dont do Instagram but will pass the link on. Who wouldn't want to buy a wicking shirt of the northern lights with trees all the way around. The paramedics cut my other wicking shirt and was in the market anyhow.

In all seriousness I'd love to give you some feedback on the site if you want

Sure man! All feedback is welcome.

Thanks for any and all help, it is most definitely appreciated!

Sucks your other one had to be cut off though, that's definitely no bueno.

It looks like what people in the 1990's may have thought the future was going to look like - but it just didnt turn out that way.

I'd give it probably 4/10

I'll start with the colors. Mint text on indigo/purple background is unique but not very pleasing. I think I see what you're going for with the aurora-type colors but it just doesn't mix well on web. I would check this out if you want to learn more about color schemes:

https://www.w3schools.com/colors/colors_schemes.asp

As for the logo. Think about the ones you see on a daily basis. Nike, Supreme etc. all have mono- or duo-chromatic logos. I think you see where I'm going with this but the mix of a green-blue fill gradient, yellow outline, and magenta drop shadow isn't going to work. Boil it down to one or two colors and maybe pick a typeface you like on Google Fonts that is a bit more serious (for lack of a better word):

https://fonts.google.com

I will say that (with the exception of your logo) you've picked your typefaces well. Outlining your product pictures in white was a good move too. I think if you mess with your colors a bit and redo the logo you're in good shape. Props to you for seeing this through.

Thanks for the resources! Much appreciated. I am definitely looking into this.

That's awesome man! I love dogs, especially big fluffy ones! Do you know what breed?

I'm glad you like the bear! It took me about 5-6 hours to draw it.

make it cleaner or make it worse looking ... I can't tell if you're intentionally going for that "early web design" look ( check out this Zima campaign)

or go extra modern - simple white & black - let the product be the "pop" of the shop design

Got any with upside down pockets?

Omg.

I'm glad there haven't been many of those fucks in a while. The top ones for me on here. I think the cello one was the most impressive on the sheer level of being an entitled piece of shit. That one still blows my mind. People suck so hard

1. Dumb chick with a cello: Dude sharing his friends gofundme for 50k for an italian cello, because she "couldn't get the parts she wanted with what she had" and obviously the next step was 50k paid for by others. Fuck that dude and his friend. I hope if she got the cello it fell down a flight of stairs and broke.

2.The watchmaker guys: This whole essay about grandad teaching them about making watches and them continuing the business. Wanted like 25k. shockingly the watches were all alibiba and the essay about granddad was bullshit. Fuck you and your watches. You make me sick.

3. Flippant: Upside down pocket tee people wanting like 10k on gofundme

4. Tinyhouse jerry: Dude wanted like 12k to build a gaper cabin tiny house. Was fitted with features on the side that were either built wrong or too advance for his lame ass skiing anyway. I wasn't too bummed though, because I made fun of him and his friends started sending me hate mail on facebook for a week, which was fairly entertaining.

This is a good list but you're forgetting two gems. Remember the two brothers who posted about skateboards/longboards they were "stoked on"? Then I figured out it was their dad's and their business. Found an article about them in their university's newspaper. Told them I'd send a link to the thread to their school's paper for a followup story if they didn't offer a full apology about deceitful marketing practices, about lying, and leave NS forever. They did all three.

Another great one was Ladies, Ladies, Ladies shirts. For a while we had a new "T-shirt company" every other week. There was also at least one good "sunglasses company" that got called out here on NSG. Turns out he just bought a massive amount of sunglasses off alibaba with his logo on them, then upcharged several hundred percent and marketed them as "custom" and "quality."

Made a few changes to the website. I changed the logo to fit the theme of the website. I also changed the image on the homepage banner and I also made the colour a little bit lighter on the text.

Still looking in to the possibility of a new color scheme so far nothing pops out as much and I'm having trouble deciding on alternatives.

I don't remember the skateboard one.

I do remember a million clothing companies though. Almost miss it to an extent. Not really, but a little bit.

I'll start with the colors.

Thoughts on the new colour combo(orange and purple)? and maybe a possible different colour combo.

I actually did a search of what colours would go good with purple and orange seemed pretty high up there. It was that or I could have gone with a dark blue background and kept the green text.

I also made up a quick blue and green mock up just for the sake of having it to look at it in case it's better. Images below this post.

Trying to figure out what's more pleasing. I have also just today looked at my website on a new screen and it looks a little lighter on this monitor so I'm wondering if that purple should be a little darker?

Thanks everyone for the help so far! It's been awesome having feedback.
