Word on the street is that Leo's Shack at Breck has been destroyed thanks to our good friends at Inside Edition. Can anyone confirm? In case you don't know what Leo's is, is is the best smoke shack in the world.

How was that confusing? They don't care what locals think, season pass sales are miniscule compared to day tickets

This is so fucked. All because of some tree huggers who think smoking is "hazardous", when guys come drunk as shit right out of the bar (on the hill) and are way more of a hazard then high dudes. Anyone know if they're taking down all the shacks or just this one? I don't ski there but I'm curious
 
which one of you fuckers is Bradley James haha. Started a group on FB to rebuild and blatantly called them out on Brecks page.
 
We should make an investigative reporting piece on drinking on the hill. SIP AFTER SIP AFTER SIP. THEY EVEN DRANK RIGHT ON THE CHAIRLIFT!
 
The stupid fuckers that agreed to giving interviews to the media should be blamed. Smoke shacks are supposed to be hush hush. It was bound to happen as soon as that aired.
 
Fucking retarded. "its illegal on federal land, since this is on a resort/forest thing" Marajuana technically is fucking illegal federally, even in Colorado and Washington. Its just legal by state laws, not federal.
 
wait what? if its federal forest servive land that the resort leases the state has no fucking grounds, Property Clause gives the fed the right to control federal lands with regulations.

I'm not saying it's not a shame the shack was destroyed, but's it's the fault of inside edition for bringing it to everyone's attention
 
actually season passes generated 38% of Vail's revenue last year... they are one resort that RELIES HEAVILY on season pass sales (because many season passes are sold out of state in the form of Epic Passes - and while Vail might not make money on day passes from those out-of-state season pass holders... those epic pass holders will certainly stay in vail's beds and eat in vail's restaurants).... so I wouldn't say miniscule..
 
want to elaborate more on this too with some of the stuff they said in response to their facebook posts. Structures like that aren't legally allowed on forest service land, but you can usually get away with it pretty well till the fed finds out, and legally you can't use timber of forest service land for use in shacks like this, which are both valid points.

I honestly only feel like Breck ended up doing anything because it was brought national attention as that shack to my understanding has been around for years and I bet Breck knew about it. It's like a huge story going out about a huge chop shop in a certain area, you think the police/fed would just stand around flicking boogers out their noses or go do something about the illegal activity.
 
Why has nobody called inside addition out for filming illegally on first service land without proper permitting?
 
I've lived in Breck for two years me, and my roommates know seven other shacks that are there. However, that was the only two-story one and the biggest one on the hill.
 
Yet none of those shacks are by any means legal...and if some arsehole reporter did a little shack tour....you might see a few more of those get demoed like leos...
 
Not all of them look like that some are hollowed out piles of snow with some sticks and a few are pretty well hidden.
 
Several are hidden fairly well, but id be pretty surprised if ski patrol didn't know where they are though, but if the stick to the code of the streets they should be spared.
 
Just watched the "report" from inside edition, and mother of god those two snowboarders at the end gave smoking and riding a bad name they sucked dick at riding high or not high. I hate the fact that they said yeah film us getting high in the smoke shack and follow us fucking tards.
