I am not a very experienced photographer and i would like to know if I bought lenses for a Rebel XTi(telephoto as well as a wide and/or fisheye) Would they fit on a T2i?
I dont have any specific lenses in mind but if someone could recommend a good telephoto, fisheye, and a wide angle that would be very nice. I shoot mostly action sports and lifestyle shots as well as nature.Budget is a concern but I may be willing to pay for top quality glass in some cases.

Yea t2i and Xti will fit on eachother

Wide Angle/Fish : 11-16 tokina 2.8

Telephoto: 70-200f.4 non IS (If you dont have the money for the IS

Good all around lens: 24-105 IS

Wide Zoom. Canon 17-40 ( buy mine haha)

^Thanks a lot man! I checked out those lenses and I think I am willing to invest in the 24-105 IS for a good all around lense. I looked at the Tokina and I guess it doesnt really look wide enough for me. I Guess I am looking for the biggest/widest fish possible.
Here are two fishies i was looking at. The canon Peleng is about $350 and the Canon 15mm Is about $700. I am willing to buy the 15mm if there is a big difference in quality ( i have a feeling there is). Does anyone have any other Fishies to recommend?

that fisheye is intended for full frame sensors. Tokina's 11-16 and 10-17 fisheye are the best wide-angles for a crop sensor.

Ok does the tokina give a really distorted image like a classic fisheye would give?I searched on google images and the photos looked very wide but not distorted. (then again not the most reliable source). The 15 mm showed images that were really distorted which is what i want.

here is a photo shot on the 15mm. will the tokina be much wider and more distorted?

the tokina 10-17 is a wideangle/fisheye lens. the tokina 11-16 is a wideangle. there is no distortion on the 11-16.

All lenses made for Canon fit on every Canon camera with a CMOS sensor (crop sensor, 1.6x). All the cheaper bodies have crop sensors. The only bodies (by Canon) that don't have a 1.6x crop sensor are:

The 5D and 5D mk II.

The 1Ds, 1Ds mk II and 1Ds mk III.

There are also 'normal' 1D camera's (without the 's' suffix) those have a 1.3x sensor, currently there are the 1D, 1D mkII, 1D mkIIn, 1D mkIII and 1D mk IV).

All the camera's stated above are really expensive (except for the older ones, like a 1D (from 2002)) and they use an EF mount, which means not all lenses fit on the camera. There are lenses made specially for crop sensors, these lenses have an EF-S mount.

Now, both EF-S and EF lenses fit on 1.6x crop sensors (not on 1.3x sensors!). On the other hand, the camera's stated above only can use EF lenses.

The 17-40 f/4L is an EF lens and thus will fit on every camera, the Tokina 11-16 is an EF-S lens and will only fit on the crop camera's.

on a crop sensor you meana fast 28-35 mm

an 50mm prime is good for portrait on a T2I, but it s like a 85mm, so it s definitly not good for everyday use.

i d go for the sigma 30mm 1.4 i have it and i love it.

The canon 70-200 IS is the most diverse lens for shooting skiing from Canon's lineup in my opinion. Then add a 2x or 1.4 x mag for $400 and you have a whole other set of lenses. You need the big lens to shoot skiing most of the time. Then get a short zoom for up close and you have it all nailed.
