Lense dying???

I tried to find it in the the goggle dying cult but no one seems to know anything about dying the actual lense of a goggle a different color. I have a pair of really old smith pos black frame goggles that I want to dye (the lense) a darker blackish color. The lense is currently a see through orange/red color. Anyone have any experience/ideas on how to do this? Any advice would help.

Although I am sorta worried about something like this happening they are like a base model goggle from about 6 or 7 years ago and I have another pair of goggles so I dont really care if I mess em up. I tried to go on line and find a replacemt lense that would be darker but I cant even find a name for them.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the title of this thread, and then OP's name.

Lens are the way they are because of the material content of the lens itself, and the coating on the exterior of the lens.

Go to the Crowbar Cult and look at how to dye crowbars and parts. do the exact same for the lense, the Rit dye will work perfectly on them.
