I didnt know Leigh, who passed away in the avalanche at Big White yesterday, but in that hes from Narrabeen, australia, about 5ks from where i grew up, and he was skiing one of my fav runs on my local hill here in my new country, i feel unbelieveably sad for him and his family right now, and this is my outlet.

Leigh isnt the first person too be killed on mountains this season, and oods are he wont be the last. But its unbelievably close to home for me for two reasons, so im using this forum to ask everyone, if u believe in anything beyond here or not, to send prayers, best wishes or just thoughts too Leigh and his family.

My the pow be deep where you are forever.

RIP

Rip LEE Barnier ...

I grew up in Narrabeen

I went to Primary school with Lee, He was a good friend of my sisters at school, and was on my school race team, we went ona couple of trips together.. Nice kid, his little brotherbeau was my buddy when i was in year 6 and he was in kindy..

I will always remember LEe for his smile, love of life and him wining running carnivals... though i hadnt seen him for over 9 years.. I was shocked and very sadened byhis passing... My mum picked me up from work last night balling her eyes out.. and told me...

Life is short Please enjoy every min of it...

and for all you kids out there cocky and stupid... get a fukin avalance tranceiver, learn hohw to use it.. and do as many courses as possible, ski with a shovel,probe and avalung and people that know what ...

RIP LEe will never forget you mate... peace WILL STOLK

It's amazing how small the skiing community is. Always the same bunch of people.

RIP

Vibes++++++++++ to his family

Not cool when this happens to anyone, especially Aussies.

I can't believe it happened inbounds, particularly because Lee couldn't have been expected to be avalanche trained, nor holding a beacon etc.

RIP Man

your post was good until this. "all the kids who are cocky and stupid" so are you referring to EVERYONE on big white that was skiing IN bounds to have a transciever on them?

RIP.

dont start another transciever in bounds argument. just pay him his dues

RIP man, may the snow be plentiful and the days be perfect wherever you lie...

is this the guy whose got that sick promo. most of its filmed at whistler, and he trys double flips in it? or is that another guuy.

still RIP ++vibes

just becasue you ski inbounds doesnt make it safe... i ski with a peeps, shovel and probe every powder day, wether inbounds or not..just becasue they bomb doesnt makeit safe... this isthe 5 or 6 personive either known or had friends know well that has died in the pastfew years,From Tristan Picott, to this kid..education is the answer.. the aware and safe you are the more chance you have of not dying...

saying its safe to ski in bounds on a powder day is like saying its safe to go surf at pipe line when the surfs big casue there happens to bea life guard there... your responable for yourself.... and it can happen anywhere.. this kid didnt deserve to die .. itwasnt his fault but dont let his death be in vain.. use it as a reason to educate people onthe dangers of skiing, wether in bounds or not.

education is the answer.. have a friend die in an avalanche and see the consiqunises on the family and loved ones of that person then you will know why i say this . I know the family soo for there sakes all im saying is let his death not be in vain.. let people learn soo other families dont have to experience what there going through... so before you make a judgement think about that...

RIP and good vibes to all friends and family. It sucks when when this happens to who sounds like a really cool guy. At least he went doing what he loved doing.
