Learning to Type Code

I have come to realize I need to learn to write code better for future business openings. I know the basics of some codes. The two I really want to become proficient in are Java and SQL (mainly SQL for sure). Already graduated college with Supply Chain Major and all that so no I am not going back to school. Anybody in newschoolers world know some decent online places to learn and practice these?

As for sb.... Do not care.

i personally would think of a small project and realize it with these two languages. you can find ANYTHING when you know how and what to google, and being precise only comes with doing actual work.

developing a solid understanding and proficiency in java will help you with the ability to better understand and program in other object oriented languages. hit up http://www.oracle.com/us/sun/index.htm and look at some of the training stuff. go to a bookstore and pick up some texts about java and various other programming languages/object oriented programming

Agreed with that. I have training with both SAP and Oracle front end uses. I was going to snag some books on it but having somewhere to practice with actual results is pretty nice to see where I am messing up.

stanford university has a shitton of lectures for free on itunes, and I know they have quite a few programming ones, because I have a few downloaded on my laptop. They also put videos of actual classes on youtube as well, and when i was trying to get into programming (didnt last long) the videos really helped me get started

also, try processing.org

its a programming language based on java that can help you learn more and develop your skills better, all the while seeing your code being turned into more visual results that you can enjoy making more than watching some sort methods at work haah

yup

I used to be pretty nasty at html because of myspace. I miss that shit. So much more creative than fucking facebook
