For anyone here on Newschoolers looking for advice on how to make a PVC rail, NEVER EVER follow directions that tell you to cut holes into the top of the pvc and then drill through the bottom. NEVER do this it can end up in your bases getting fucked. Now i know never to do this again. The cost for me to get this fixed will be more than the rail all together. If your looking to build a rail follow the instructions in the build-a-jib cult those are the best. Dont make

Sorry if im confusing you guys but I attached the pvc to the pvc by drilling a hole though the top and then drilling it in the bottom of the pvc kinda like this.

and drilling where the lines are through the 2x4

 
you must have been doing something wrong...my setup is built like that and after 1.5 years on it, my bases have nothing close to what yours have.
