Learning Backflip

Hey guys, I’ve been skiing for for a while now and have recently gotten into park. I can do spins on the horizontal axis like 3’s and 7’s but I still have a great fear for backflips... I’ve been able to do them into water but I’ve always pussy’d out when it came to trampolines and land. Last time I tried it on land I actually broke my wrist lol. Anyway I really want to learn how to do backflips on skis so I can advance my skiing. I really need advice on how to learn and maybe hear your guys first experiences.

I’d recommend you put a backflip to your feet on the ground or at least on the trampoline before you take it to snow. If you can do it into water, this shouldn’t be an issue. But you really want to get the feeling of sticking a backflip before doing it on snow. The goal is to become as comfortable as possible going upside down. For your first backflips on skis, try to find a smaller jump with a pretty steep takeoff that will help you initiate your rotation, with a soft landing. I recommend you do not do it in in the park your first time.
