Layering up in hoodies

hey ns. Thinking about saga OG logo but wondering if it's gonna be warm for 15-30 degree weather(of course with a couple warm layers beneath it. And also if anybody has tried wearing a waterproof windbreaker underneath a jacket like the OG that isn't very waterproof or if the OG would hold up fine in rain. I heard it's a 5K waterproofing. Also wth does 2L and 3L mean on sagas anomie/fatigue.

+k for something I didn't know or answering questions or in site on the matter

2L and 3L are the fabric layers I believe (don't quote me on this). So those are shells that are designed to tackle the elements better than a soft shell (OG jacket). Which is a light layer, with some wind and water resistance. What i suggest is that you get the OG, and wear it under something like the Fatigue or Anomie

why would you want to wear a shell underneath a sweatshirt. just wear a ski coat that'l keep you warm an dry.

Yep 2l and 3l as said above refers to the number of layers. However 3l usally means that there is a layer to protect the water proof membrane on the inside. The membrane is made of tiny holes which stop water getting in but still allow vapor to get out, making the coat breath. If this layer is right next to your skin, the membrane can get clogged by the oils and dirt in your skin. The extra layer helps prevent this from happening, meaning the jacket should stay breathable and water proof for longer.

The one thing to consider with hoddies is not just the water proof rating but also the breathability. If it does not breathe well and you sweet, the sweet will get trapped inside and this could actually make you colder. This is why its inportant to wear good base layers, not cotton.

Overal it coes doen to wear you ski, if it is just cold but dry, then you maybe could get away with a couple of icebreakers and that hoody. If its wet where you ski, you will want somthing more.
