Just on the off chance that someone here knows something about employment law, is it illegal for an employer to decrease an employees wage (for no reason) without telling them?

 
My understanding is that if you haven't signed a contract with a set amount for your wage and it stays above min. wage, a private company can do whatever they please. We talked briefly about it in con. law class and that was my impression.
 
Yeah, thats what I figured. I guess i'm more just pissed that they didn't tell me at all. Oh well, I'm just gonna quit.
