Laugh hard, it's a long way to the bank

It's probably a spin-off of "laughing all the way to the bank" which meaning someone has made money in a very easy way or a way others thought impossible.

The expression you are asking about might be easier to interpret if you consider that.

one would typically say this expression to someone who had just bested oneself at something. sort of a forewarning (whether or not it has any truth behind it is irrelevant) that "you should watch your back; you haven't won it all just yet."

"Walk fast, cause theirs plenty of places for me to hide on your way to the bank to deposit the money you stole from me."

bob makes a wager with alex, and alex thinks he is going to win. So alex laughs in bobs face since he thinks he has bested bob. bob says slyly "laugh hard alex, it's a long way to the bank" and then proceeds to win the wager and watch alex walk to the bank to fetch his fairly won ca$h

the pot called the kettle black!

my dad say this all the time and the only thing i can think of is the pot is racist!

Pretty much this saying means, good for you but you haven't made it yet. So literally meaning go ahead and laugh but I'm going to rob you or you will get robbed before you get to the bank

that means youre a hyprocrite or youve said something ironic.. like.. if i was super selfish and then one day you wouldnt share your sandwich with me and i was all "youre so selfish" then you might say "talk about the pot calling the kettle black"

dumb example but you get the idea
