Last binding thread I swear

I swear this will be the last binding thread i make! ive been head over heels trying to find bindings for my 08seths the past few weeks, gathering info, trying to find them...and am going crazy.... so...i ride a 26.5 solomon boot, i weigh 160, height 5 11, ski length 179, hated the sol 912 fell out of it way to often, skiied a din 8 for park, will prob ski higher on the seths. Planning to use the ski for bc powder/jibbing, i tend to be hard on my bindings, i want this pair to outlast the skis....whats my best option...and better yet...where the hell do I find them?

as i said, please dont abuse this thread, i need answers badly, Im clueless, i had enough difficulty in choosing the skis and this binding deal is just giving me an uneeded headache. I do have access to a p18 for cheap as well...

Well with a p18, the minimum is 8 I believe. So unless you wanna ride at like a 9-10 I wouldn't go that high.

I would go with a FKS 155 if you want some awesome durability. Maybe even 120 , but I believe the 155 has the race build like the 185, so they should be somewhat more durable.

You could also go with deadbolts, but people will argue about those, some saying they're awesome some putting them down.

On the other hand I doubt you'll hear many people say bad things about the FKS series. Also the Seths aren't 'soft' so you shouldn't have problems with tearouts or anything.

Look PX12's... should be sufficient. If you typically ski DIN 8, and plan to set these higher, maybe around 10? If you plan on setting 12, maybe get PX14's, but they are wayyy expensive and hard to find. PX12's should suffice

I really need a higher din limit than 12, i ski a 8 in park and 10ish on pow days... so far the cheapest ive found is a p18 and am on a strict budget...i cant blow 200$ on bindings unfortunatly....a p14 or fks 155 would be perfect, but would the p18 be fine?

a well if you really want to stay in get solly 916s, the px14's will work for you and so will px12's, both can work with a din of 10. if you got the 916's you would need to go higher.

YOU DON'T NEED A DIN HIGHER THAN 12 if you ride 8 and 10. you're not close to the high of the binding. maybe if you were riding over 11, but not at 8 and 10. P18s would own you, you have no need for them. and even FKS155s are overkill, get the FKS120s and be happy that you have the correct binding for you and you didn't spend a bunch of extra money.

^ i'd say a p18 is too much... i'm a bit taller and heavier than you and i've skied with p10's and p12's with absolutely no problems...

if budget is an issue but you still want a high din limit then i'd say a p14 (or similar) would be more then enough

the px heel is just fine for you. it's not as bad as people say it is I have never pre-released in it. And for K2 skis you will benefit from the larger screw pattern.

it's doesn't really affect the springs unless it's within 1 of the max or min. being too close to the max obviously wearing out the springs, and to close to the min not having enough tension for the binding to function properly.

salomon z12. i broke 3 bindings untill i got z12. i have only skiid em like 10 days and only fell out like once or twice but it was when i should have fell out. its a good binding.

They are total shit, I've broken 2 pairs riding at a 10 din and they prerelease like bitches. DON"T BY PX. and a P18 isn't overkill at all.

I ride my px12's at 10 and have absolutely no problems with them breaking or prereleasing. even if you get a fks120, the toe piece is all plastic and exactly the same as the px12's. you really don't need anything higher than an px12 unless you are setting your din higher than 11.

although on the flip side the fks188 do release very smoothly so setting it around 9 wouldn't be a problem. it would just be a waste of money.

but hey, at least you'll look all sweet and core and thats what counts right?

Thanks for the few who posted good advice...yes i ride a 8din, but i crank it up to 10-11 on powder days. I think im going to go for a p12 and search around for a p14 and swap em out when one comes up for sale since they have the same mounting pattern.

thanks a bunch

Dude dont get p12s, they blow. FKS 155s if you can find them. I say be patient, find a pair. You will never regret your purchase. You weigh like 20 pounds more than me, and you're taller than me, and I ride a DIN on 13. I think you might be able to rock a FKS 185 but be careful, thats a pro binding. I'm too scared to step up to those. 155s fit me perfectly and I think they should fit you well too.

A 13 DIN on the 185 would actually put you more in the mid-range, maybe you should sell this kid your 155s and grab a set of the 185s or P18s...they're exactly the same as the 155 except the spring.

yeah I know I could ride FKS 185s at like 8 or 9...but I don't know. I am scared :s

plus my FKSs are my babies.
