Last 6-7 years of slopestyle? Summary?

So yeah I followed until about 2014 and pretty much stopped watching skiing for the most part. I'm now seeing Dew Tour's being recommended from 2010 to 12. Wallisch, Brown, Carlsson and Harlaut. Dane Tudor was that his name? I've begun to try and see how things have developed. I know Wallisch is at least semi retired. Carlsson, Harlaut and Brown are still going at it thought I think not in the competition circuit. So yeah any kinda summary you want to give me the story of the second half of the decade. Just how the scene has evolved. Obviously the rona affects a lot of it right now.

I'm mostly interested in the actual comp circuits like Dew Tour that were hold in many locations during a year. But however you want to tell it.

Harlaut is the only og still competing. Brown stopped a while ago because of a life altering injury or something a while ago, but he's back filming. Woodsy is still around. Today is mostly big spins and some more wild shit has been happening on rails this year so far. Matej Svancer is a fucking psychopath and you should most definitely watch out for him. He just won the steamboat big air with a triple 1980.

Briefly;

The dew 'tour' now only has one stop in Copper, this year it's being treated as one of the Olympic qualifiers (FIS event).

More nationalities are rearing their heads in the slopestyle scene.

16s/18s are becoming commonplace in slopestyle contests.

Much heavier emphasis on rail sections these days, the rails are gnarlier and with 5 times the amount of skiers trying insane shit on them compared to previous years.

The average age of competitors has dropped drastically as far as I can tell.

Most slopestyle events are unfortunately organized and operated by FIS, with exceptions like the XGames.

Haven't seen a trip 14 safety in a contest in maybe 5 years.

Henrik is the last of the "OGs" still competing.

Skiers like Birk Ruud and Matej Svancer are consistently leading the pack in results, as well as inventing new tricks pretty often.

Big pants and small tops are the new trend.

Homies are still finishing top 5 with 12s and 10s, which is nice.

Feel free to add onto this list

i think the best way to get caught up is go on youtube and search for x games ski slopestyle (and/or big air) 2015, 2016, etc. i usually have good luck finding old finals like that, and seeing the top 3 for each year will paint a good picture of where things were each year

big air is fucking CRAZY these days. yeah there are triple corks and 1980s but there are also dub rodeo 18s (henrik) and other dope shit

I also like Matej because he isn’t like Andri spaghetti, he actually has some style and he is funny as shit

you must land a perfect run with not even an ounce of imperfection, creativity, or a spin under 1260 or you will not score well

Gonna go watch some Andreas Hatveit videos on YouTube thanks for the inspiration.

Once everyone in slopestyle learned how to do every trick imaginable perfectly every time I have to say it got really boring. No drama, no danger, no cowboy up shit. ?‍♂️

I'm honestly jealous of you. Personally I had so much fun watching slopestyle through 2019. That's when I got lazy about following it. I wish I could watch it all again for the first time. I'd struggle to give a good, concise summary, so I'll leave that to other NSers. Awesome thread topic, my dude!

Most slope courses now have a shark fin feature which is pretty much just a pipe takeoff to regular jump landing. Actually a very cool change. I like it

The fact that people can throw switch dubs off that shit is insane
