Have been to Las Lenas a coupla times, I will be there at the begining of August for a week. Where are you flying into? The bus ride from Mendoza is really long but beautiful. I flew into Buenos Aires, then to Mendoza. You can fly Santiago to Mendoza too....

i know portillo has a descent park, and greatpowder, plus its all above tree line so its just tottally wide open

when an officer pulls you over: gee son your eyes look red, have you been drinking?

respond: gee officer your eyss look glazed have you been eating doughnuts?

Hey dude, I have been to all those places (i studeies in Chile for a yr) and hear is what I think: Go to Argentina (Las Lenas) if you want some good powder and MT skiing. But other than Las Lenas, Argentina doesnt have all that great of MTs. BUT in Chile there is Portillo, Valle Nevado, El Colorado, La Parva, and more and then the places down south. Portillo is more of a family oriented resort, mostly powder and chutes and whatnot. If you want parks go to El Colorado and Valle Nevado, their scene is off the hook. Ask for the Salomon Team at El Colorado (Equipo Salomon) and you will find some tight ass skiers. They are GOOD. Las Lenas has a decent park but it doesnt compare to the hills east of Santiago like El Colorado and Valle Nevado. There are hotels in Santiago and every morning at 8AM there are buses that leave from the OMNIUM Centro (Escuela Militar Metro stop) to Valle Nevado, El Colorado, and La Parva. Hope all that helps. Plus there are buses everyday to Mendoza and Las Lenas from most cities in the Chile, Arg region.
