Laptop Suggestions

As the title suggests I'm asking any techheads here on ns if they can suggest a lightweight laptop. I'm currently on a rather hefty asus which works fine but I'm looking for something that would be more bike/travel friendly.

I'll mainly be using it for work and school (gis & other types of data). Not really looking for one of those hybrid tablets. I'm tempted to get a macbook air, but I'm kind of disappointed with the way my apple products have been performing lately. It also needs to have two or more USB ports.

+K for any advice obviously

The Macbook Air's specs are rather outdated. It is a solid device though. I would recommend the Dell XPS 13.

14" Razer Blade. It has the form factor of one of the new Macbook Pros but it has 3 usbs, a usb c, i7 7700, and a 6gb gtx 1060. The thing is a workhorse and you can get one of the older ones with a little bit worse specs for like $1000. If this is too much power for your needs look at the Razer Blade stealth. Its basically a Macbook Air on crack that runs windows, and its only $999 brand new

OP do you have a budget? And what type of work will you be doing (any cad or revit)?

I'd like to keep it under or close to a $1000, the cheaper the better though. I don't see myself doing much cad or revit on it. I mostly work with remote sensing data at the moment. Might end up running r and/or python on it too.

Asus Zenbook Pro.

For 1400$ you get a metal body, i7, 512ssd, 2tb hardrive, 16 gb of ram and a gtx 960m. All in an ultrabook body with a huge battery capacity. Not to mention a 4k screen.
