Laptop specs for editing

I just ordered a new GoPro, and am looking at editing software to use once it arrives, only problem is my Laptop is a little outdated, not a lot, it's a year and a half old.

Specs are as follows

Acer Aspire 8510t

4g RAM

Intel Core 2 Solo CPU 1.4 ghz

32 bit Vista

Intel integrated Express 4 graphics.

Is this going to be ok to use up to date editing software (Vegas 9/10, Adobe Premiere etc)

If not, are there any cheap (ish) upgrade options that would help, ie more ram or a graphics card?

Well your first problem is that you have vista...

But it's all about RAM, I have 6 and it's really good, I think that 4 will be enough to get by, just make sure not to keep too much footy on there or it will slow it down a lot.

Well all I currently use my laptop for is watching ski movies, ns, facebook and porn, and vista has done those fine.

Is an upgrade to 7 worth it you reckon?

hahaha nice man.

I mean, I had vista last year but I spilled water down my laptop so I had to get a new one and it has windows 7 and it's significantly faster, and just all around better. But if you don't have the money for it, then probably not.
