Landing on flat

This past weekend I landed pretty hard on flat ground on my feet. I skied on it for another hour and the pain was pretty unbearable so I just went in. It was my left foot, like by my heel, and kind of on the outside of my heel (left side). I let it rest for a couple days, but yesterday it snowed and I used the rail in my backyard and I aggravated it again. Anyone have any ideas? Has anyone ever experienced this?

This happened to me 2 years ago when I totally cased a jump. My heels hurt so bad I couldn't walk and when I went to the doctor they said that their is a lot of fluid and tendons in your heel so it is easy to bruise but it takes a while to heal. So unfortunately all you can do is rest it for a little bit.

that area is pretty much all muscles and tendons, there is a good chance you're fine. give it about a week, then if it still hurts go to the doctor.

Sounds like a bruised heel. Take ibuprofen and ski, otherwise medical advice is not best sought after on ski grabber, try your local doctor. But seriously, bruised heels hurt, good luck.

Try to take it easy and avoid over exertion. I thought I had a bruised heel from continuous heavy landings snowboarding but the pain wouldn't go away for a month. Went to the doctor and it turned out to be plantar fasciitis. The only way to ease the pain/remedy was to get a heel brace and provide extra cushion on the heel. If you keep working the heel and ignoring the pain you can really screw yourself over.

Land on the balls of your feet when you go too big if possible. I overshot a jump on purpose but went way bigger than I expected and skied away despite a 25ft drop to DEAD flat (it was at the bottom of the hill).
