Laggy video in Sony Vegas? (solution!)

So like many people on NS, i have a new GoPro HD. After the day is done of filming I sit down to edit, thats when i realize i cant watch my preview without MAD lag. Making it not possible to edit on time. After rendering and shit ( a very timley process ) not only am i down many GB's of HD space, ive also lost the HD quality and my video looks like shit. Short of spending 100$ on more ram ( i only have 1gb ) I searched around youtube, and TADA it works for me.

Baisicly, just select what you need to see without lag with the yellow markers, and hold shift and press b. Give it a bit to capture each frame, and then you should be able to edit flawlessly.

if you go to build dynamic ram preview that usually gets rid of the lag

nice, that shit was happening to me and i didnt know how to fix it. but yo, im using vegas pro 9, and when i try to preview my project, it only shows a black screen. and as it's playing, i can see the cursor moving as it's playing, but there is a black line that stays where the cursor used to be before i pressed play. and ya it only shows black. how do i fix this? i dunno if you guys understand what im sayin but ya
