Lady gets nailed!

I'm no cop hater or anything. I appreciate what they do *most of the time*. However, I have seen lots of police brutality in the recent videos taken at the Occupy Wall Street Protests. I understand the NYPD is taking orders and doing their job but REALLY, the lady wasn't posing a threat at all and she got knocked out cold. Come on now.

also this guy is a true G

sorry if these are reposts. I checked the search bar but found nothing.

Do you really know she wasn't posing a threat? I'm not trying to take a side or anything but it looks like something else happened off camera before she got hit. It's not like a cop is just going to jump out and knock someone the fuck out for standing there.

At the point in time before he hits here she is not posing a *physical* threat. I don't know what she was saying. But during the video it seems she was not up in his space giving him reason to hit her in fear of his own life.

I'm pretty sure she did something to provoke that. Pause right at 0:08 and look to the left of the foremost cops helmet. You see her dart into frame and her arm swings out. The action is hidden but you see the in-step at the cop. The cop then spins her in front of him and that's when he hits her.

yeah you don't have full context - she could of had a knife or some shit....

But still - that was brutal, and if she didn't do anything, then that's fucked up - and with so many people around looking for a reason to kick off... well, that could have gone all rodney king right there....

He definatly could've, but you have to put yourself in his shoes. If he was hit over the head he might've thought it was a violent attack and could've panicked. The only way we can know for sure is if we get another shot.

i want to fucking shoot that big black guy in the forehead. he's the reason why people are getting hurt. thats not peaceful protest, thats obnoxious loud and rude behavior. he looked like a threat to me and if i saw 10 cops jump on him i would not think twice about it.

chill bro. shooting people in the fucking head is not peaceful. no need to bring obnoxious loud and rude behavior to NS!!!!!LOL

yea my bad, but its people like that who make cops get violent. he had no good points. I respect the fact he's a veteran but he doesn't present his point well.

Honestly if it wasn't for the uniform the cops probably would have asked him to move along sooner. If i was in a sudden position of power like that i'd do exactly what he was doing, and then when some punk kid told me to shut up because i was acting a damn fool i'd tell him to kindly fuck off.

Practically more media than hippies. Considering the confrontation she was in (referring to first video), I'm guessing there was some tussle going down before hand. You have cops on motorcycles going a snails pace with a wall of hippies then some chick all moving around crazy getting KO'd for no reason? Nah.

reminds me of this:

Don't fight with a cop and you won't get punched. I dare you to try it (or not try it?) sometime.

well there was that other video of a cop just casually walking up and pepper spraying 2 women who were simply standing there. i wouldnt put it past one to knock a woman out.

This, although this might be one of the more extreme cases of (most likely) unnecessary violence it is, unfortunately, not the first. The NYPD needs to get it's shit together.

The black guy annoyed me. All he did was shout and repeat the same couple of sentences for 5 mins. I was hoping for him to actually say something intelligent, but nope, just shouting. Very misleading title, he did not win anything. Sit down black guy, your angry rambling isn't helping anyone.

We'll remember that when you post an "omg the cops totally fucked me" thread someday.

Of course she did something, she was right in the front- but "doing something" could be anything. It could be just being there talking shit. Regardless, there is no reason for any cop to closed-fist knock a woman out cold. There are procedures and techniques that make that unnecessary, and if he was going to arrest her he could have done so pretty quickly WITHOUT just blasting her in the face.

There is no reason to do that. None. Unless she was punching him, and even then he should have no problem subduing her without unnecessary violence.

THIS..and what charmander said

these fucking degenerates harass and harass the cops physically all day and night and act all surprised when one reacts to being threatened? I would never condone hitting a woman, but these NYPD officers know what they are doing, they know they are being videotaped from about a million different angles and you can bet your ass in the briefings they are being told to not instigate because they will get in trouble..its clear this officer was provoked/threatened and he acted accordingly

does anyone else see the irony in that they want more government regulation of corporations from the same government that is also telling police officers to break up the protests?

Dude that marine is smart. He is right, why are cops harassing US citizens, they are just expressing their beliefs and using their rights established in the Constitution.

no porn?

There is a thing called loitering and well people could easily just put signs outside their building and have the cops come and arrest you and shit, or at least have to get them to leave, and well people don't. There is something called following the rules and standing around doing nothing while someone in power tells you that you can't do that you listen or you get fucked over. It's how it works, it's how it has always worked.

Oh and that girl definitely hit that cop first, clearly posing a threat. Sure the cop didn't have to knock her out but what is he suppose to do? Just let people beat him up?

i was in the city that nite and there were a lot of different groups roaming around. some where really belligerent an others were just handing out literature and trying to talk to people on corners. but i can definitely see why the cops were on edge cuz they were EVERYWHERE.

Now they are stealing from each other.......

Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops -- and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food.

“Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment,” said Nan Terrie, 18, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale.

“I had my Mac stolen -- that was like $5,500. Every night, something else is gone. Last night, our entire [kitchen] budget for the day was stolen, so the first thing I had to do was . . . get the message out to our supporters that we needed food!”

Crafty cat burglars sneaked into the makeshift kitchen at Zuccotti Park overnight and swiped as much as $2,500 in donated greenbacks from right under the noses of volunteers who’d fallen asleep after a long day whipping up meals for the hundreds of hungry protesters, the volunteers said.

“The worst thing is there’s people sleeping in the kitchen when they come, and they don’t even know about it! There are some really smart and sneaky thieves here,” Terrie said.

“I had umbrellas stolen, a fold-up bed I brought because my back is bad -- they took that, too!”

Security volunteer Harry Wyman, 22, of Brooklyn was furious about the thievery -- and vowed to get tough with the predatory perps.

“I’m not getting paid, but I’m not gonna stand for it. Why people got to come here and do stupid stuff? All it does is make people not wanna come here anymore,” Wyman fumed.

At one point yesterday, Wyman and other volunteers briefly scuffled with a man who was standing near a park entrance with a pail calling out: “Donations! Donations!” -- and pocketing the cash people tossed in the bucket.

Meanwhile, the Rev. Jesse Jackson was at Zuccotti late last night as he and about 50 protesters formed a human chain in front of a medical tent after police officers came over to ask about the tent, cops and protesters said.

“Jesse dropped in like a ninja,” said Stephanie Perricone, 21. “He came out of nowhere and helped us all out.”

The officers were asking about the size of the tent when the crowd of demonstrators -- including Jackson -- stood en masse in front of it.

The cops said didn’t ask for it to be taken down and the issue was quickly resolved.

And this guy is my favorite. Deliberately throwing himself under a police scooter.

What a fucking joke.

the theft doesn't surprise me. These people are fucking themselves over due to rampant drug use, filth, and theft. You can actually smell occupy boston from hundreds of feet away. And apparently there's a drug business emerging from within.

I also recall reading about a convenience store near one of these movements that hadn't been robbed in more than a decade, but now has been broken into almost once every 2 days since the occupiers moved in. Enough that the owner now sleeps inside the store.

Though part of that problem is that homeless people prey on these types of things.

this shit again eh...

lets face it, youre not "peaceful protesting" if a cop tells you to move, and you dont.

at that point, he/she in my mind, should be allowed to use any means necessary to move you.

same thing happened in toronto. people wanted to protest the g20, which is fine. things started getting broken, police tried to control the crowd, certain "peaceful protestors" wouldnt move, they were arrested, sometimes forcefully (which is not "assault" or "brutality"), or detained temporarily.

bottom line, if a police officer is instructing you to back up, and pushing on you with a riot shield, its probably for good reason. anyone who is actually "peaceful" will oblige, and go "peacefully protest" where it is safe to do so.

those who resist, in this case, get punched in the face. man, woman, whatever. we have rules in society for a reason. i struggle to understand why societies comprehension of these rules goes out the window everytime there is a "peaceful protest".

Would someone please tell me the purpose of "Occupy Wall-street"

I literally have no idea why there are people doing it. And also I read somewhere that in Rome they rioted and their "Occupy Wall-street" turned violent fast.

The banks are fucking up bro. Using bailout money for christmas bonuses rather than fixing the establishment itself.

Source? where is that information coming from?

The bailout was the first problem now the banks are just taking it and sticking it back up the governments ass apparently. But hey, more spending right?

Oh, and the second paragraph explains it well too. 130 BILLION for benefits and workers comp. Thats why people are "Occupying Wallstreet"

That is worse than pathetic.

A scooter going a whopping .5mph and some cheese dick is screaming on the ground. But hey, fuck context, let all those journalists and what not snap pics and make it look horrific.

Fortunately that asshat was getting arrested immediately.

get the fuck out the streets you really think people are going to listen to a bunch of hippies that dont shower and are stealing shit from each other.. oh and they also refuse to clean or do anything else than sit there with fucking signs. its stupid go occupy the atlantic ocean or something.

hahaha dude that scooter probably weighed in the 100s of pounds. he acted like it was a semi slowly rolling over his leg. All this occupy wall street has turned into kids who can't find a job in what they want (lazy), lazy people who have nothing to do, hippies, and old bums. The politics were there at the start but now it is just pointless protesting.
