Ladies & Gents: Anchorman II

Ron Burgundy is making a comeback.

Actor Will Ferrell, after jamming on a flute, announced on “Conan” that he plans to make a sequel to his popular movie “Anchorman” in which he played San Diego-based local news anchor Ron Burgundy. The movie was a send-up of TV news and 1970s culture.

He stopped by the show in character to say that he was launching the project and that Paramount would be making the film. The original movie, directed by Adam McKay, came out in 2004 and co-starred Christina Applegate, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Steve Carell and Fred Willard.

“It is official, there will be a sequel to ‘Anchorman,’” Ferrell said, and then went back to playing his flute, or at least pretending to do so.

Ferrell’s representative gave Speakeasy additional details on the project: McKay will direct the new movie, there won’t be a 2 in the title and Ferrell and McKay are writing the script together.

What do you think? Are you looking forward to the “Anchorman” sequel? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

people will do anything to make money, and by anything i mean ruin a great movie with a shitty over the top sequel...... eh ehm, pirate of the caribbean, and they are still going on those dumpster fillers

in my opinion

bump.

I just saw it. I had high expectations and think the movie came pretty close to meeting them. I think they did a good job with balancing reoccurring jokes with new ones. It was funny...and obviously worth seeing

Also, I caught a few things that changed front the trailers. In the trailer, When ron was eating dinner at Linda Jackson's house with the family (the black chick), I could swear he said something along the lines of "which one of you convicts wight the longest record can pass me the butter" The phrase got replaced with something a little weaker... I wonder if it was special interest groups or something that lobbied against some of the racist cuts Another thing in the trailer but not the film was the gay character... which ron and ppl could not understand what it meant to be gay. Again, I'm sure someone up top decided it was too offensive .

oh yea,

plot line was much worse than the original...but who cares.

and it was funny to see a lot more out of Brick in this one

Coincidental bump, I just saw it.

It is the straight up funniest movie I have ever seen.

Over Stepbrothers, The Dictator, The Hangover, Fubar (doubt anyone's seem that)

But you really have to have the right sense of humor. Or be super stoned i suppose

Just saw it last night empty theater due to snow storm and at some parts I was asking myself "ehat the fuck is going on?" but other parts I was laughing my ass off

Was it actually good? I have low expectations just because there is so much hype around it, but I will see it anyway. Was it as good as the first?

Just got back from the theater. It was ok but not as good as the first. Started off a little slow, but it was still enjoyable to watch

saw it today and it was pretty funny, 1st one was way funnier but still the 2nd was pretty funny but in just a different way

Really? I saw the preview and ended it with a big 'meh' and have heard its really just no where near as good. I don't know if I want to ruin the original - same with Super Troopers.

If you are in the right state of mind and enjoy the same humor as the first, it is a great movie. I though the trailers made it look ok, but it was way funnier than I expected from start to finish.
