I don't think he was trying to say smoking is bad, it's just that Tanner looks like a fool in that picture even moreso than in others where he isn't skiing.
 
he just hung out too much with mick d in his youth...remember the old jibtech flicks? Tanner and Mick totally stoned jerking around? ...but tanner looks nice after seeing deschenaux with his iced out teeth and bling and watch, his dangerous looking dog (although I think it's a nice dog!), tatoo on hands and cigarette smoking...what more can I say, MICKY D fucking rules!!!

no man could ever be the real wayne wong...but I did have freestyle (oldschool) lessons from Bob Howard (who was #2 to wayne wong back in the day).. learned poleflips, misty's, flat ground spins, wormturns, polish donuts, outriggers etc...

so much fun
