Kung Fujas

So I found a really good deal on K2 Kung Fujas with the Schizo Frantic bindings, but the only length they have are the 189s. Im about 6'2'' 180 lbs. For anyone who has actually skiied them, is that gonna be pretty long?

You'll probably be fine. The rocker makes them ski shorter than they are and you'll get used to the added weight and length.

what year? The reason I ask is because they run long in older versions (so a 189 is actually like a 192) but this years is true to length in that ski. And, either way, you could probably pull it off, it would just take some getting used to - plus, if it's a rockered model it'll ski a bit shorter than an un-rockered ski.

2010. the first year to have the rocker. and ya thats what i was thinking, that they would ski short but id really prefer closer to 185 or a little shorter so i was just wondering

Hi!

Gonna highjack this thread as the title is suited to my needs! I'm also considering this years kung fujas skis, but wouldn't mind some more information/opinions before I make a purchase.

My specs: 5'9-6'0 (183 cm), 175 pounds (78-79 kg), very experienced skier.

Likely skiing conditions: Park (60%) All mountain (40%) with the occasional week or two in the alps powhunting.

Now, my first concern is which ski length I should go for, usually I go for the longer length, however in this case 189 seems rather long compared to what I've skied before. I've been riding 181 suspects, would these feel very big in comparison? Do the skis run long for example?

Mounting: would a center mount be ideal (for allround performance), or do they perform better mounted further back? I don't think schizos will be an option as I have a pair of STH16s lying around.

How do these planks perform? Are they light/heavy comapered to similiar skis? I've only really ridden park skis so this would be my first pair of "wider" skis. Are they fun? I'll probably land up skiing park mainly, but I would like a pair of skis that have good performance in most conditions.

I appreciate anyone taking their time to give their recommendations/opinions.

Thanks

At your height and weight, I'd rock the 179s. Especially since you want to ski park a bunch. When you ski other terrain, you still have the rocker and the 102 waist working in your favor.
Most people will disagree on NS, but centermount doesn't work the best for everything. BUT, you won't be on a Schizo system, so..something 5.5 forward would be sick for park AND pow.
And yes, they are super fun. I don't ski anything without Rocker on it now. You'll see:)

haha its all good. i ended up getting high society fr's. they were on tramdock for like $299 so i got those

the rocker isnt huge so i can imagin it making a huge difference. ithink you will be good though. it makes you a stronger skiir

length wise the rocker is large...height its not so high... but the length of the rocker is going to make it ski short.

I rocked the 179 Kung Fujas last year. Great ski for Vermont, can rock the sketchy icy days, the pow days and its great in the park. (Although i mounted mine between center and boot sole for powder days.
