Hey guys I just got some 179 K2 Kung Fujas and have Griffon Schizo on the way... where should I mount this system on my ski since it adjust and all? Does anyone know where they have the holes setup for the schizofrantic system you can get on some K2 skis (my skis don't have it). Really want to set them up to do anything (park and pow) Anything would help +k for informed answers!

Got the skis in amazing deal I couldn't pass up and they didn't have inserts and I wasn't sure what bindings I wanted when I got the skis. Call place I got them and they said they didn't have any with the insert to exchange

yeah I saw that on the side of the ski but I figured that was for traditional bindings. Thought schizos might be different since they adjust

If you have the insert-style ones or mount the flat ones normally they go from '0' which is K2 Core Center (slightly behind true center I believe) to -6 which is ~1.5cm in front of traditional mount.

pretty much except that they go from slightly in front of boot center (traditional) up to what I measured out to be true center. I actually moved my whole system one set of holes further forward on the system so that when I'm at true center I'm not all the way at the very end of the track. Should be solid for everything still because I still have about 4.5cm of space to move them back for free-riding

just got my Kungs through and mine don't have any sidewall indication of mount so how do i know where they are mounted? and therefore where to move the schizo to and from...?
cheers for any help

as the K2 gold sign looks at centre could i line up my midsole on my boot and use that as a reference point?

mine have the schizo inserts and if they are mounted correctly at +6 they are at true center (or very close to it) and at 0 they are at about 1-1/2 cm forward of traditional

go 3 back from true center

schizos can move 3cm forward and 3cm backwards

so 3 back would let you ride at true but it would also let you ride at -6 from true and anything inbetween

NO, far from accurate, topsheets can shift a bit during manufacturing; the sidewall marks are printed on the exact right spot with a special measurement device, so they're 100%correct.(you dont want your left ski mounted a centimeter in front of the right one, do you?(in some cases ski center is printed on the topsheet; thats also somewhat accurate, but sidewall markings are always the thing to look for...)

if they aren't there just take a tapemeasure and measure it out, or balance the ski out ....or if you want em sidecut center, take a very precise calliper and measure out the narrouwest point on your ski, thats the sidecut center...
or if you don't feel comfortable doing all that yourself, get em to a shop !

cheers, looks like i'll whap out the tape measure to find centre and go from there.

i'm kind of confused as to why my pair don't have any sidewall markings apart from the ninja stuff, annoying.

as i'm at uni and don't have a tape measure readily available or a local ski shop would this work. clip boots in, flip one ski, put them base to base and adjust the schizo until the midsole lines up (obvious at the same rate). that should be center right?

yeah, probably...atleast your skis will be mounted on the same spot....
but how do you know where your first mount is gonna be?or are you just mounting on good luck?
you can mount em in the balanced center so it spins betteryou can mount em in geometric center (middle between tip and tail)you can mount em sidecut centeretc etc....
and how do you plan on drilling your holes? you have a powerdrill and all the tools but you don't have a tapemeasure?
i'd wait till you go home for a weekend or so or go see a friend or neighbour who has a tapemeasure...or even better get em to a shop since i doubt you have the accurate tools @ college to mount em...

no no no bud, they are already mounted i ordered them pre mounted from Germany to the Uk. i'm just trying to found out a reference point on the ski so i can move them accordingly from there as i don't know where they mounted the schizo system and my german isn't on par enough to email them aski.. yea get my jist..?
