Knuckle huck had a good run, but that was so fuckin whack. Creativity was punished for showing up. Shoutout to Jesper n Juho for doing something other than a double cork.

Also shoutout TW that jacket is insanee ?

I’m sad man. Was hoping that knuckle huck would be the event where funky stuff would be the focus but here we are

100%.. here we are. They snubbed Jesper on that wild spaced out, double backy thing but replayed it more than any other clip! Doesn’t that mean it was the best one?

maybe they shouldve used the style ranking on the event all about style

They did that and that's why henrik got a medal just for showing up, didn't even ride with the best style but his clothes are baggy and that's all style means these days I guess

tbh his landings were atrocious

Would’ve loved to see Quan on the podium. Had multiple unique axes and nice style on everything. Sad to see an event like knuckle huck turning into spin to win. A 14 off the knuckle is sick, but is it creative to throw an extra 180 on a staple trick?

Podium should have been:

Jasper

Quinn

Coldy.

Jasper got robbed. The backflip to backflip was next level. And Quinn's (opp carve?) nollly 1080 was... also next level.

The judging felt like there was a weirdly hyper recency bias. I could be stupid but it felt like every time someone landed a trick they always improved a spot even if their tricks weren't actually better than the person ahead of them.

i think they score jesper lower on backflips to get him to do something different

idk how they judge knuckle huck compared to big air but they weren’t sharing scores so it makes me think its done more loosely than other sanctioned events. kinda seemed like they were continuously bumping people up to drive the hype.

seems like you need to save your bangers for the later part of the event because doing them early without scores will just get bumped.

They need from change it back to a winner take all, no more podium, but the event is already very xgames'd just a huck fest. I wouldn't be surprised if it gets nixed in the future.

A-Hall did some of the creative shit but didn’t land it like in the 4. run man that shit would have been insane but he didn’t landed it, but if he landed it man I don’t think that the score would have been good

That'd be like telling Basquiat to paint in a different style because we've already seen him do it before.

No other skier utilizes sw backflips the way Jesper does. It's a signature move at this point and he somehow keeps finding ways to reinvent the trick.

Judges should maybe score big air tricks on knuckle lower to get some skiers to do something different.

Juho's tailpress frontflip was totd for me. No doubt.

Agreed, also they should have the riders or fans vote on the winner. I’d hate to see it get 86’d bcs it’s a step in the right direction, just being mismanaged right now

This was pretty sick!

So…knuckle huck is now just a big air contest/spin to win cuck fest? Lame.

still better than elizabitch swaney

Knuckle hack was pretty wack from its inception. The judges have always rewarded spin to win and not creativity or buttering ability. I watched the first year cause it’s a good concept but I found it to be a let down, and it doesn’t sound like it’s gotten better lol

It’s just so hard to watch them dirt on creativity score wise but then plaster the same trick all on their ig. It’s so funny, We literally want this to become a pure spectator sport and they don’t get it

I feel like it would help if the 'knuckle' didn't like have a small lip to it. Last time I checked, knuckles don't really have lips ??‍♂️

Idk, maybe it was dished out a tiny bit but I didn't see anything obvious. Big jump knuckles go up a bunch to get to get up closer to the height of the takeoffs. If you hit a knuckle fast enough, even if you don't jump, you'll go deep. I def saw a small takeoff dug in one year, but this looked like a pretty standard knuckle to me.

Knuckle huck is going through the same evolution that slope style has already gone through. I’d rather see a rail jam and a really small knuckle for knuckle huck something to force style and creativity….. none of this will ever happen though. Idk how made the thread but I recently watched the slope style later on and those rails are like half to a third the size they should be. Oh well this all always ends up being a complaining forum after these events.

I think going fatty to flaty on that knuckle with as many spins and flips as possible is whack. They can do that at bigair but at knuckle huck they should be more creative. I like Jesper but these switch double flips also aint it in my opinion.

People should have to actually incorporate the knuckle I think. Otherwise it's just big air off the woman's tee.

Quan seemed to have the perfect mix of style and technicality and didn't podium. Colby hucked dub corks like it was a big air comp and wins. Cool event idea but should not be spin to win at all.

Quan was robbed. Sad for Quan. Hope this doesnt cause him to skip future X-Games cause he's fun to watch.

dont think anyone's gonna skip knuckle huck because of judging, maybe in other disciplines. does it really matter though like isnt knuckle huck just about having fun doing wacky tricks, yes it would have been nice to see something other than a dub 16 win but i still loved watching everyone else throw down some sick stuff.

X games is the most confusing time of year because nobody gives a fuck about it but everyone gives the most fucks simultaneously

idk ....i think i saw gopro of jesper was doing switch backie off the first thing to then switch backie off what was an actual knuckle. Colby did a nosebud dub 14 off of it...very impressive but if you pulled up to mammoth superpark and found the 140 foot tabletop with the biggest true knuckle out there, maybe somebody could do a nosebud dub 14 on it, but it would be the absolute ender and it wouldn't be all poked out like Colby's. All due respect, but Colby's felt like doing it on a watered down jump (still video game shit tho lol)

Anything's pasta bowl but look at the difference between mens and womens. The air time was all related to speed.

Like I said, possible they dished it out a little but looked pretty standard.

Step down knuckles are flatter but the normal jumps we.have in comps the landing comes up closer to the height of the takeoff. If you're booking it and hit that it will send you.

I see your point on step down vs. other jumps , but it was def dished out man. How can you do a switch backie and then land and do another switch backie all in one 'knuckle' (if that is what I saw)?

I think other years have been more of an actual knuckle and were better comps because of it. This year seemed to be more of a 'double hit'

I wouldn't call it a double hit. Where he takes off could be scooped out for sure, but where he launches the second looks slightly downhill already.
