My friend caught busted yesterday night driving drunk with 1200 pills speed. He is scheduled to go to court next thursday. Does anyone know what he will get? What sentence?Jail time?

Also this is not his first offence. He did 80 hours community service for disorderly conduct. I need info fast because this is killing me. Also can I go see him at his hearing? Thanks NS

you can go to hearings, they're public. wear a fucking suit, i know its hard for most NS-ers, but it will do him a favor if he can be seen as having respectful/responsable friends. Also, don't talk during the hearing.

He's probably going to lost his drivers license for the dd, and he'll get controlled-substances charges for the pills. the disorderly won't make his sentencing worse, it just means he won't be able to try and weasel out of jailtime by saying it was his first offense. what state? (that affects sentencing)
 
is 1200 pills speed some kind of slang term for a something or are we talking about a freaking trunk full of amphetamines?
 
If he doesn't get killed by the guy he was delivering pills for I assume he's gonna have a pretty light sentence. Canada isn't exactly known for harsh drug sentences, even with that much speed on him.

years and an unlimited fine."

Thats in the u.k and we are nice and soft on our criminals.
 
Speed is a Schedule III drug in Canada.

Basically his fate hinges on whether he is indicted for posession, or trafficking.

If its possession, his maximum sentence is 3 years. If its trafficking, its a maximum of 10 years.

Of course, these maximum sentences are designed to handle the biggest of dealers; 1200 pills is clearly a lot, but probably not as much as the biggest guys handle. So he wouldn't see a maximum sentence. If he is offered and accepts a plea-bargain, he will get an even lighter sentence.

I'm pre-law in the US, not in Canada, so I don't know how things go exactly by you, but at this point you have to accept that he will go to jail. If he gets lucky with just possession, maybe for under a year. But he's going to get boned, especially considering that he was picked up while driving intoxicated.

fuck its not looking good. I'm pretty sure he'll get trafficking cuz we live in a city of 16000 people and the cops know this guy is a dealer. His dad was a Hells Angels before he hung himself. But he is a super nice guy.

Fuck, his mom is going to take it hard. He will also probably get beat up because it wasnt his speed
 
Your friend needs some KNOWLEDGE about living life correctly.
I know a fair bit of us have driven around with less-than-legal shit in our car, but damn, doing it drunk is really asking for it.
He will go to jail without a doubt, considering he has fucked up before, so I guess it is time to look for another friend.
 
i live in Canada and i could see him getting a good 5-10 years for DD + trafficking there is no way he can say that those 1200 pills were for his own use. sorry dude but your friends probably going to jail. + K for his asshole
 
1,200 pills is a lot, dude. He's going away for awhile. It depends on what they charge him with,but manufacturing, importing/exporting, trafficking, possession, or any combination of these are possibilities. It also depends on whether or not he sings. I'd start planning for 5 - 10 years.....
 
a guy I know got caught smuggling a suitcase full of cocaine across the American border into Canada, and it was a sting operation, like they knew exactly who he was and as soon as he got into Canada he was arrested, so it was obviously with intent to sell... and he went to jail for 6 months, he'll probably go to jail, but not for super long.

damn hahaha i laughed so hard when i saw this... um hes not gonna get the electrical chair lol our democratic government are a bunch of pussies when it comes to the death penalty, but he will definitely get jail time. he'll get busted for possession and driving under the influence, my guess, taking american law in school right now, he'll get 2-4 years, and with good behavior, a little over a year or so. what an idiot though
 
He better get the best damn lawyer money can buy because he will be doing alot of time for those pills. Not sure what speed is considered in canada but moving that in the US, he would be facing major charges because prescription pills are serious stuff. He will be charged with trafficing due to the large number.
 
or while he is in jail, his friends ban together to get their cop killing friend out of jail, and to pay his bail, by selling marijuana, which they steal from theodores place of employment, and flip in a desperate attempt to make the 100,000 without getting raped by sampson simpson
 
Cut the poor guy a bit of slack, his father was a hell's angel who later hung himself.. The odds were clearly never in his favor. Yes, driving drunk with an outlandish amount of amphetamines in your trunk probably ranks among the most stupid things I've ever heard of ..but try and see a bit of the social context too.
 
damn dude, i think your friend is screwed, 1200 pills is a bunch and there's no way around it. i have sold shit before and its not fun at all. all you kids on ns, don't sell drugs, you will regret it.
 
Depends what type of prison he is sent to. Assuming he gets more than two years less a day, he'll but put in a federal prison. I don't know what they have in Quebec, but in Ontario, it's Kingston, and that place is rough. Even though what he did ranks up there as one of the more stupid things you could be caught doing, I hope for his sake things work out in his favour.
 
or maybe he got caught on purpose because he's an engineer who designed a jail in which his brother is being held for a crime he didnt commit in a desperate attempt to break him out.
