Knocked out 7 teeth

I lost all my front teeth (bottom and top), badly lacerated my lip and injured my knee after dropping a cliff in Whistler this past wednesday. After lots of medical attention I have about 20 stitches in total on my lip, in my mouth, and on my knee.

Currently I am on a full liquid diet for the next while until I can get dentures and eventually dental implants. Does anyone else have experience losing teeth and/or being on a liquid diet? I am getting quite bored of smoothies and soups even though I mix it up a lot. Any ideas, recipes, or general tips would be quite appreciated. Thanks!

Vibes bro. That really is an awful place to be in. Have you tried adding milkshakes? DQ makes some thinnish ones that are pretty good.

I got my front two teeth knocked into the roof of my mouth a few years back, the medical team at Tufts saved them but there are some major discolorations, I would suggest a nice blender and or juicer, I lost weight and got used to it quick throw whatever u want in and have fun!

yeah bro...similar thing happened to me my year of college...although i didn't lose quite as many teeth, i lost my front, broke my jaw, split my lip 3/4 of the way through from the outside in & 3/4 of the way through from the inside out right on top of that, and fractured my cheek bone. it looked like someone blasted me in the face with a 2x4. shit sucked soo bad.

What time of day did that happen? Tooth-hurtie?

HaHA bazinga!

But really that blows dude, hope you get better.

magic bullet is your friend.

you can literally have anything you would normally have if you blend it up and use liquids (chicken/beef stock, Au Jus etc) to make it liquid enough. steak and potatoes, chicken and rice etc...

Instant mashed potatoes, protein shakes, blended chili, and fruit/veggie smoothies were nearly all i ate for 2 months. Youll get through it.

good luck buddy!

really sorry to hear that man. Don't forget to be getting proteins into your diet, which is easy to forget when on a liquid diet. Whey protein powder milkshakes are actually really good.

Without any teeth you're gonna be able to give some mad head for the next few days.. dont be selfish.

I had 8 teeth pulled last year, it sucks. I ate really overcooked pasta in some really thin sauce, under-baked cookies, and laughing cow cheese, as well as the smoothies and whatnot. Also getting protein via peanut butter and nuttela is recommended, a lot better than blended meats.

anyways, vibes. Good luck with tooth-brushing, that hurts real bad.

You mind dropping some details on how a 20 footer did that? Flat landing? Rocks in the landing? Sketchy Takeoff?

I'm guessing knee to the face since he hurt his knee too

I lost a front tooth playing hockey. Mine got chopped off like 3/4 of the way up though and the nerve was hanging out. It was quite painful every time I breathed in

I had my mouth wired shut for a month when I broke my jaw.

Most meals I would just take some soup and blend a chicken breast or some eggs in for added protein. Had the odd steak with some added beef broth. And lots of ensure.. Love that shit.

Yeah, I dropped a 10-footer into what a though was fluffy powder and turned out to be white cement. I tomahawked and clapped my chin on my knee when I stopped. It doesn't take a huge hit for crazy shit to happen.

Yeah I did something similar a few years ago. Had been sending a decent 10 or so footer all afternoon on a pow day and got really ballsy at the end of the day and sent it as fast as I could- cleared the landing and came down hard on a spot where the wind had blown it down to ice. I bounced my face off my knees so hard I cracked my goggles and gave myself a bloody nose and fat lip.

Vibes sent your way, definiteIy know how hard getting your teeth knocked out can be. I knocked out my four front teeth on the steering wheel of my jeep cause some some bitch ran a stop sign. Had three surgeries until i was fully looking normal. The next 14 months sucked because i had a hole in the front of my mouth and two screws poking out. Had to wear a "flapper" which was a retainer with fake teeth on them. Now i have permanent implants made of white gold and porcelain that look much nicer than my real teeth did and they alway stay pearly white.

any of the above? literally anything can always happen. He could have got fucking shot in the face with a 12 gauge at the time he happened to be jumping off a 20 footer. not everythings black and white bitch

was just about to post that pic. but vibes man hope you can shred soon. until then eat ice cream and play some shred sauce ma dude

downhill biking off of a drop and went over the handlebars. Woke up with a stick through my lower lip and into my mouth.

Thanks to everyone for the vibes. Im healing up but it will certainly be a long process. Ill be getting some fake teeth on March 7th if the swelling in my mouth has gone down. After that It will be a very long process for dental implants but after that is done ill have some perfectly straight pearly whites!

I have definitely learned a few lessons along the way. I will admit, the cliff I dropped and specifically the spot I dropped from was really stupid. I wont be going back to try and conquer that any time soon. It was a bad judgement call. After an amazing day with some long awaited deep snow we got way too ambitious. I payed the price for a stupid mistake and thankfully Im ok.

I have a picture and a video on Instagram you guys can see here :

As for the diet, I have been mixing it up a lot. Different types of soups, pudding, overcooked noodles, oatmeal, smoothies and protein shakes have all been staples of my diet so far. Soon enough ill be moving on to Kraft Dinner (stoked for that haha). The best soup Ive had thus far is definitely potato, bacon and lentil with cheese all blended up. As for the shakes, I have a good stock of frozen berries, yogurt and ice cream ready to go. Soon enough Ill be moving onto Kraft Dinner (stoked for that haha). My grocery bill was almost double what I normally pay, but I think what I have for now will last me a little longer than normal.

Overall Im doing alright and wanna thank everyone who has helped me out thus far. It certainly isn't the worst injury ever, but not the easiest to deal with. If anyone else has experience with broken jaws, missing teeth etc shoot me a PM maybe if you have any tips.

Hopefully that answers everyone's questions!

It's a mouth injury, so it will piss you off until the minute it's fully healed. I've knocked out my front two teeth three times. The most recent I also split my chin in half and ripped up my gums and shit by eating my handle bars biking.

All the advice I can and will give you is you're just gonna have to tough up. It fucking sucks, but just wait until you eat your first steak again.
