Knees Help !

I have a question about training on my knees, because I have very weak knees and I would be somewhat prepared for the season. I would add that I am 14 years old, so I dont want too overloaded exercise. Is this knee pain can be caused by accelerated growing up or just need training?

You need to describe your knee pain better.

What makes it worse, what makes it better, is there a clicking or poping, is your range of motion limited, do you have pain on full flexion only or at other times? does your knee swell. did you have a known injury to the knee (acute trauma?) where about in your knee is the pain? have you had a growth spurt recently.

answer these, and I will have a better response for you.

but...Based on your age alone, its quite possible its called Osgood-Schlatter (typically refereed to as growing pains). Generally, you want to focus on strengthening your quadriceps and improving flexibility of your hamstring and quads. Dont exercise if it hurts too much. Ice it daily. and dont be afraid to rest it. pushing through the pain will only make Osgood-Schlatter (if thats what it is) worse.

actually, you're wrong, he means that he doesn't want to do too heavy exercises....

English mf, do you speak it?

Im learning :) Im 14 now ... just give me some time man. What about my pain it isnt countinious it appears when im jumping and running a lot plus im inline skating ( i dont know if it could be the source of pain )

I have knee problems my whole life, they've recently gotten better because of my two week break in between seasons. You're most likely either looking at osgood schlatters, which I struggled with until like 15 or so, or it could even be patellar tenditis which I have a problem with due to the fact that I play sports all four seasons, plus skiing so that doesn't really help.

with your age, talk to your doctor and to a personal trainer. They will be able to find the best solution for you. It is much more complicated when you are growing, because like you mentioned, it can be damaging when you are growing. My freshmen year of college, I began lifting a lot more (used to play sports and do workouts for that/practice), and I found that doing legs 3 days a week for the whole semester made a noticeable difference in my skiing. No pain anymore (knees used to crack and I would sometimes walk weird on mondays after long weekends skiing), and I just felt like I was much better overall at skiing. I could jump higher, I could go faster, I could do moguls for much further without stopping because my legs were tired etc. So if anyone else my age is reading this, I suggest that. To OP though, talk to the doctor and a trainer.
