hey guys i tore my acl last month and i need surgery.

i was wondering if you had any experiences with the surgeons in vancouver, and if you would recommend any of them.

i ve heard good things about dr mc conkey in sqamish but it s not the most convenient for me since i live at ubc,

thanks for your help.

I broke my kneecap last year and dr sidky at lions gate in north van did my surgery. all went well

My dad's had about ten surgeries at VGH involving his knee. I'll definitely get the surgeon's name for you but all went well and the guy was great. He also gave the surgeon his cellphone to take pictures of his cut open leg during the operation.. then they went out 4 drinx l8r

I tore my ACL/MCL before last season started and had mine done by Dr Brooks Hill from Squamish General. She's a good doc, and like dr mcconkey, wroks with the canadian ski team.

I know Squamish probably isn't the easiest place to get to, but at the end of the day not having a good knee for the rest of your life is more of an inconvenience than travellin an hour. as long as you can find someone to drive you and hang out for like 6 hours, then I'd try to go for Dr mcconkey (or brooks hill). if you go into surgery at like 12, you could be home not long past dinnertime.

There must be a number of good orthopedics in Van though, I'm surprised that noone here has had an ACL repaied in van

You're having yours done on the provincial medical plan, right?

My dad went with McConkey in Squamish and things went really well. I don't think the distance should be too big of a deal.
