Knee probs

so i sprained my right knee a couple months back but it still feels weak as fuck. this has caused me to not hit jumps for a while and its gettin fairly aggravating. If i land awkwardly, putting more pressure on my right leg i get a painful sensation only in my knee that lasts about 10 min then goes away. however i feel my knee swell up a tiny bit each time this happens, which limits me from fully hyper extending it or bending my knee all the way without pain. I have consulted a doctor and all ligaments are intact and healthy. she recommended leg raises with weight tied around my ankle but that doesnt help very much. she said the quad muscles around my knee have shrunk to compensate for my knee swelling so id needa target that area.

tl;dr knees weak as fuck, anything i can do to strengthen it

please dont tie a ankle weight and do extentions. Too much torque. Knee doesnt work like that.

Work the squats, single leg stands, lunges. No weight, just hella reps. Start shallow, progress to deep. Maybe go beast on your bike. Look up hip bridging, - nothing helps a knee like strong glutes!

MASTER THE PISTOL AND YOU WILL NEVER HAVE KNEE PROBLEMS AS LONG AS YOU SHALL LIVE

hyper extension isn't natural fyi, that's when your leg extends so far the knee moves inward

and to whoever said biking, that's a bad idea biking is just as bad for knees as skiing is.

OP, go running and start doing light weight squats

mountain biking is hard on the knees, but road biking? why do you think they use bikes for rehabilitation for just about every leg injury?

Honestly sounds like a torn meniscus. I have one right now and I feel exactly the same thing your describing.

yeah i was put on the stationary bike for a long time when i was recovering from my torn acl and torn meniscus.

I recommend biking, and lightweight seated leg presses
